There are roadworks at various places on the M5 that are causing havoc. A friend of mine was delayed 3 hours today. Allow plenty of time. Glad I'm on the train. Safe journey everyone. COYR!
Sheer weight of holiday traffic will have a serious impact. When I lived in Gloucester it just wasn't worth getting on the M5 on a Saturday and heading south at this time of year. It was bad enough from Jct11 onwards but when the M4 traffic join in just north of Cribbs Causeway it is a complete nightmare. Good luck everyone!
It took me 11 hours last weekend from cornwall queued from jct 31 to 20 on m5 for best part of 6 hours
Took my son and family 12 hours yesterday from Exeter back to Barnsley due to lorry crash and road works
Not surprised to hear these stories. This is the worst fixture we could have got in August. I'm glad I'm not going
I regularly travel down the M5 and believe me I avoid it like the plague in August. The sheer volume of traffic, caravans over turning at Avonmouth, accidents and roadworks make it an absolute nightmare. Good luck to all making the journey .
Am in Torquay came down last Saturday , only took 5 hours . Was hoping to get to game today but wife gave mi one of her stares when I mentioned it . Anyway come on tarn let's get season of wi a win
We set off at 7.30 and hoping to be in Chepstow for 11. Google Maps are only suggesting one crash just outside of Bristol.
I came down motorway, set off from home about 6.30 am got here at 11.20 ,I know exact time because I let mi Mam know we got here safely . First time we hit traffic was Bristol but we where on the move all time .
Those who left early morning will be ok but if you haven't set off yet you will struggle to make it on time. Report just put out on Radio 2 that two lanes closed on M5 near Bristol due to an accident. Slow crawl all day from now on I reckon
If you haven't set off, go now. Might be ok but only just by the looks. The three and half hour journey looks like being nearly double
Set off at 9.20 and got to ground 5 minutes prior to kick off. The accident which affected between junctions 13 and 15 had more or less cleared, it was just sheer weight of traffic further down. Oh and weather was atrocious after Birmingham.
