...for saving us from any more of that. Wet and horrid. And they were as likely to win it at the end as we were. We look like we've never defended a corner - ever. And the back four seem to have never met. Rays of hope - Moncur and Ugbo. Plus maybe Hedges (did I say thank you Ryan?) Downers - Pinnock doesn't win headers, Hammill gets caught all the time, Potts won't break any. Having said that, 4-3 didn't tell the true story. 7-5 would have.
We look like we've never defended a corner - ever. And the back four seem to have never met. [/QUOTE] Well two of them had never played a competitive game for Barnsley so in a way they had never met. Dreadful defending, but that's what happens when you rip a team apart and ask the coach to start again. At least we looked like Barnsley going forward at times and combined well. Some good football, easy on the eye. We need to embrace the positive at the moment.
They only just have!! Any side can be coached to defend a set piece. That will be worked on, the fact we actually looked half decent in possession is the biggest boost. Fair enough against a league two side but still. Credit to Morecambe, they came and had a right go. Could have gone their way. I'm not sure we can judge masses from the game though - awful weather, cup ties are notoriously peculiar games, we never seem to do that well against lower league sides in this cup. See what happens against Micks mob Saturday.
