This little debacle fills me with hope that the plan is working. Let's look at it this way: 2014: Winnall (200k) Hourihane (200k) 2015: Watkins (?) Scowen (150k) Mawson (?) 2016: Moncur (600k) Bradshaw (500k) MacDonald (100k) Yids (free) 2017: Lindsay (300k) McGeehan (700k) Potts (750k) Thiam (supposedly around 1m) Pearson (600k-ish) We're making progress, slowly and surely. And right now we're apparently lining up the 6 foot 4 built like a brick you know what house full back that tore us to shreds against Huddersfield as a replacement for our free transfer right back from Barnet who is leaving for 7 figures. Investments are being made, we're able to bring in players of a higher pedigree with more football league experience, and even though Yids is one of our better players, we seem to be linked with an exciting replacement. Not being a happy clapper, just looking at how we're investing in players. The only stumbling block is strikers which I'm sure is progressing. Rocky start to the season, but so was our first back in league one. Give the lads a chance to bond and we'll be okay.
at a guess i'd say that little lot took care of the john stones money ( which was all profit through the academy) so I would imagine all other sales are gravy, the thing that worries me is the striker situation and once they're in its getting them settled and the midfield/wingers find out what kind of service/system they work best with
Funny bunch, strikers. Last season we started with over 60 league one goals in the squad through 3 players, winnall Bradshaw and Armstrong. It's finding that pairing, getting that service. Ugbo looked good at Morcambe, strong enough to get into the box and supply Bradshaw. 2 assists from Moncur as well, looks like the striker woes may be over soon if we can get another couple bodies in.
i don't think they're to bothered about that French kid they had on trial and his parent club ( ren ?) say he can stay and have a trial with us or so dee dah said earlier
