Beggars belief the amount of people complaining about us signing players on loan. We have absolutely no chance of competing financially at this level so we have to try to gain an advantage or level the playing field wherever we can and if that's through loaning potential as opposed to gambling on expensive "proven" players then so beit. Of course I'd prefer to sign players on a permanent basis but just look at the fees being quoted by teams at the moment. Ryan Kent was absolutely slated at times on here last season yet Liverpool value him at £5m. Tom Lawrence at Leicester, he's valued at £7m plus. I'd love to see a list of players that these "well known members" think we should be signing.
Not just that but you're allowed 5 loans (in a matchday squad, I believe it's more to just have). We'd be daft to not at least sign some as back up if nothing else, provided the cost was minimal and there was no 'guarantee to play' clauses.
Well we were apparently getting Isgrove last year. Perhaps he just walked from Southampton, slowly taking in the sights.
Well I am not one for stats, but if you are referring to Armstrong, he might have taken part in 30 odd games but some of them were only small cameos, but we agree to differ, I think there is a player in there. It must be me anyway, because I think Ryan Kent was o.k, but he has taken some stick on here, yet Liverpool must rate him now they have given him a five year contact, but if you are naming failures, then all you are doing is saying that the loan market at least saves you buying players who turn out to be duds, therefore it must be beneficial.
