Yes. He played a full season before joining us knowing he was leaving. He's a professional and has high standards.
I'd put him on the bench. We need to give games to the players who we know are staying in order to gain the experience they need. If we need to bring him on then so be it. He could also get injured then that's a load of money up in smoke.
Watching Football Focus and Dion Dublin was commenting on the fact that Coutinho at Liverpool has expressed a wish to leave to join Barcelona after the latter has offered £90 million for him. He's injured at the moment so he can't play, but they asked Dublin and Kevin Kilbane should he play for Liverpool again. Their answer was a resounding no as he's unsettled and a bad influence on the team. Dublin said " as a player I wouldn't want to play alongside him- get him out for me." Exactly the same sentiments over Yiadom for me. He doesn't want to be at Barnsley Football Club. It's like playing with ten men.
Presumably we prepared the team this week on the basis that he'd be gone, so I wouldn't disrupt this. I'd consider sticking him on the bench as cover for injuries, but nothing more.
So if we prepared the team on the basis that he was going, why did he not go? And especially if it's considered daft to have him play for us again....he may as well have gone.
Sounds like it's collapsed post-medical (or at least been delayed). Either way, given that a fee was agreed and he was having a medical, it's reasonable for the club to assume he wouldn't be available today, and prepare accordingly.
