whats it matter ....experience, will help the younger lads no end and in many cases will add value to those we sell ...so out lay would help us reap dividends
Another midfielder for goodness sake, what is going on here. And is it true that Mallan is pratting about already with 'homesickness' ?.
I think part of our reluctance to sign "older" players is due to the dead fish eyes story Patrick has told a few times in relation to the last time we went down. Give Hecky a bit more license to look at the players he wants, regardless of age, and I'm sure he'll get the right personalities in. Yes they'll cost a bit more in terms of wages but the clubs income must be at least £10m a year in the Championship, surely about 70% of that would go on wages if you're serious about staying in the league, be interested to know what the ratio is at the minute, 30%?
Well Hecky did say in an interview that maybe the squad needed a couple of older heads. So still in the plan.
The 'Dead Fish Eye' story. Patrick Cryne told us of it at one of his numerous 'Meet The Fans' venues. It happened under Danny Wilson's time in charge. (second time around) The team hadn't been playing well. There appeared to be no passion, no commitment , no real desire. PC visited the dressing room and talked of the passion of past players, club's achievements etc. He gave an impassioned talk and at the end he looked at the faces of the players and knew that they didn't understand what he was talking about as all he could see were 'dead fish eyes' looking back at him.
And 99.999% of fans will agree with you. I don't think anyone would deny that we could do with an experienced head, particular in the middle of the park. Many can't see it happening based on our current remit of signing players.
