Finally out in the open then eh. Was told about this week's ago, they met the council a few weeks ago to discuss buying their share. Hopefully it is the same deal as the nice one where the Crynes hold on to 20%

Can I just point out, when I asked the question, "I wonder why", it was a genuine question, I wasn't making assumptions, or insinuating that I am against a takeover of this kind.

I could have consulted Google, granted, but considering he owns the biggest hotel chain in China and is a billionaire, I find it amusing that he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page.

I doubt Blackpool fans would share your view on local ownership.

Personally funded substantial losses year after year to keep us afloat until we were able to stabilise with a strategy?

Not sure what you're suggesting unless you're implying that Pat Cryne will be taking the profits we only recently made from player sales for more than repaying his substantial financial losses

Think the ground is safe, to be fair, as they have already sought planning permission to build a greetings card shop by the away stand and turn Redfearns bar into a Chinese takeaway. As for the pitch, well, that'll be stuck between a wok and a card place...

I welcome even the rumour of this.

Old Hecky has one hand tied behind his back, and if a bit of extra money can help us keep the King Conors of the world, then let's have it.

We are the best club in England at sourcing cheap talent and polishing it up. £200,000 players and youth-team graduates are worth millions, courtesy of stellar recruitment and coaching.

This is Barnsley, not Real Madrid, and so we are always going to lose them in the end. If someone can pay their wages for another couple of seasons, though, then hello Premiership.

Retention, and selling for market value, are our weaknesses. Fix that, and we've cracked it. I welcome our new Chinese overlords if they are willing to stump up the cash to help us hold onto our jewels for just a bit longer.

I've no idea what PC will do with the proceeds of sale, it will ultimately be entirely up to him, but to me 'growing the asset until you then divest of them to monetise it' sounds like the precise definition of the strategy to me.

our current modus operandi will only see us get so far until either Hecky gets pissed off or we get relegated, we need investment and i honestly believe with a stable background Hecky could turn us into a season in season out midtable Prem side with 20k plus average gates

If it has been seriously in the pipeline for months then it seems a bit strange that we haven't kept hold of Roberts, Scowen and maybe Yids, I'm sure a Chinese billionare would have enough loose change to keep them happy.

Jumping the gun here, but we are in the same ball park as a quarter of the Premiership - Burnley, Watford, Huddersfield, Swansea and Bournemouth. If they can get there, we can get there.

Was there not something the other day saying we offered Yiadom a new contract which was miles better than the one Huddersfield had done?
