But it's OK to have a french CEO, foreign players and fans that aren't born in Barnsley?

I can understand apprehension with it but to me I've seen it as inevitable.

In any case, if they do pump money in, it'll just be on a bigger scale than PC has had to; if we truly lived within our means we wouldn't need his input every year and therefore would likely as not be in the 3rd or 4th division

If it means we get a bigger budget I'm 100% behind this.

All very very interesting...im sure (hope) patrick has done the due dillegence.
what are our options? we have an owner who has serious health issues and just cannot carry on....so he has to sell to someone....are these people the right fit for us??? god only knows. The romance of having local owners erc...is just that ....who else has money to come in ...in barnsley?
Therefore we need to listen to any appropriate offers...which has been going on for ages (i reckon). It of course raises more questions than answers .....i just wonder if we will become more proffesional...ie how transfers are conducted....we still seem very amateurish in this respect.
Whatever....... i guess our job is to back the CLUB ...and trust them to get it right.....its all we can do.....but as custodians of this club we should be treated with equal respect and remember...we will always have our opinions and always voice them.

They are just employees of the club, no more than that.

Just our luck we get bought by a billionare and the rest of the Championship clubs bought by a multi billionare, leaving us still skint.

But I'm not. I'm not from Barnsley. Is it not OK for me to invest my money and time in the club? Not being local and all that.

I'm new to the forum so hello to all. Like a few posters have said these discussions have been on the cards for many months. I'm not ITN but Barnsley council and local businesses have been building relations with the Chinese for many years. This seems to be is a natural progression. My only worry is we get the wrong kind of investor, the Chinese economy is very volatile they've had a boom and bust in recent years. We need a stable investor who is willing to put in a little more than the amazing Mr Cryne. We need tens of millions over a period of around 5-7 years, living within our means but complying with FFP by gaining greater commercial investment from a mixture of local and international companies. Big money equals greedy players who won't care about the club. Steady investment would allow us to stick to the plan and the pool of potential young targets would increase. Our progress would take a steady trajectory, with Hecky at the helm. We are ripe for investment a well run club with a loyal fan base which would only increase. I would only hope any new owner would have done their homework, and offer tickets at reduced rate to gain more cash strapped supporters and hit the ground running. When the club is buzzing so is the town.

I very much hope we get investment. It would be great to see us in the top half of the Championship and perhaps eventually the Premier League eventually. But call me a bit too romantic (!) but I would love for us to continue the policy of signing young players as we have done, but without the need to sell as regularly. That said, if you have success, no-one complains about who you sign

Think you'll find not all of us are in the
    despise camp...
This club must evolve or die..
The little Yorkshire shop keeper attitude is no longer an option... For those that believe the Darwinian theory as fact, should not have a problem accepting change..
