Clarke had gus by the throat. He kept calm for a good while but eventually lost it to a point. Not great but on a human level 100% understandable. He had him by the throat and wouldn't let go. I guarantee that he wouldn't have sent Clarke off for it if gus hadn't finally reacted though. Davo could have helped him out a bit more I reckon but he would have ended up in bother too. In hindsight gus will know he's been daft but in the heat of the moment the fact he tried to avoid the confrontation as long as he did is testament to him I'd say. Let's not castigate too much - how many of us wouldn't offer any reaction whatsoever if some odious lovely person like Clarke had you by the scruff of the neck?
Angus has had that coming for the last 2 games I am afraid. Needs to wise up fast. Listening to dee dah, sounds like we are very lucky that Clarke went as well. Sounded like he didn't do anything to justify it.
Bbc radio sheff Utd suggesting the blades have been wronged? Never. He had him by the scruff of the neck and wouldn't let go. The whole thing was instigated by him and gus tried to avoid it to be fair. The fact that radio Sheffield is our public service station yet is so biased is unbelievable.
It's more the three match ban that worries me, Gus hasn't exactly shone but pinnock and Jackson? Eugh Lindsey fit soon?
Only going by what I am listening to. To be fair both biased Keith and our Derek were in agreement about it. Suggested he had his hand in his face but thats it just part and parcel.
No hand in his face, he had him by the throat. That was clear on the replays, to be fair the liner obviously saw the lot. As I said above I suspect Clarke would have got away with it had gus not eventually reacted but that would have been an injustice. Daft to react, especially the way he did, he might as well have stuck a proper nut on him, but like ive said, I'm not going to overly criticise, how long do you let someone have a hand to your throat?
Clarke had his hands around Gus' neck and pit his head close to Gus too, all while gobbing off at him. Davies was trying to calm things(I think), when Gus had his little paddy and thrust his head at Clarke. After the slightest contact(no excuse), Clarke knew he had "got" him and turned around and waved to the ref, indicating he had been headbutted. Luckily, the linesman had seen it all so both(rightly) went...
**** me. Biased Keith has just apologised because he's seen the replays and agreed that Clarke had him round the throat.
