I think we could do with flogging him in January. Lets face it he's been really poor since he signed. One of the highest earners at the club too.
I've seen him play well just the once from memory. I'll be glad when isgrove is ready. On Saturday we looked like we were all running in treacle for the most part. Crying out for some raw pace to get the opposing defenders running the opposite way. All they did on Saturday was pass Bradshaw between them.
For me, the lad has been the biggest permanent transfer disappointment in the last two years. I can accept that some of our signings from non league haven't been good enough to make the step up, but they are low risk transfers and, I believe, are worth that risk. However, Mowatt is an experienced Championship player who, so far, has failed to deliver.
What's more annoying is that he obviously has some talent and is able to play at this level, but he just flaunts around the pitch as though he can't be arsed.
Doesn't help when he keeps on getting played on the left hand side of midfield though. Agree, he does flaunt around with that attitude.
Hope I'm wrong but I'm never comfortable when we sign players who are fans of local rivals, from my understanding he was very close to a lot of the Donny Whites in his younger days so lets say maybe he's not as committed to Barnsley football club as he might be
Have to say he looked really keen and trim in the friendlies and when they did the fitness test he was at the top of the tree. So I dont quite get this "He cant be arsed". He clearly went away in the off season and worked really hard.
Well maybe over time that will prove to be verifiable true. On one performance though, Im not so sure you can say much. Maybe he'll get a chance over Moncur.
I 'd like to see more of him before we decide what to do.You don't play over 100 Championship games if you haven't got the capability.
Silly silly theory. "I know I'll ruin my career because it's not a club I support". I think he's just being played a bit out of position and is a bit lazy.
Gets some hammer, but I'd rather he played over Potts and Moncur on recent showings. Refuse to believe he can be any worse that absolutely ineffectual. I actually miss Dawson and Perkins.
The problem is the guy doesn't have pace, he hasn't the quickest feet either. He has got fit, very fit, the bleep test showed this, i know he had a personal trainer all summer & you can tell, but this only means he can keep going for 90 mins, it doesn't mean he's any quicker, he can play a ball & apparently is good from a dead ball situation, but he's slow in the tackle, get's beaten to 50/50's & can't outrun a defender, all these attributes are needed in a Hecky side, so for me, he won't get the game time & will be a squad player at best....
