Involves discussions about honouring the early bird promises next season. I'm a bit worried that there may be price increases that could price me out . I take two grandkids as well as myself and although I only pay a nominal fee for one of them they'll soon enough be needing funding.
First year this season I have had to pay £80 for both my kids. Seemed ages away when I first started paying £30 for one and the other free. Won't be 2 mins before I'm getting kicked out of family stand for them being too old
It's just my luck that I won't be able to attend a successful campaign into prem . Last time I lost my job and went with agencies which at that time barely paid enough money for me to bring up my family never mind getting down to oakwell. From mid sixties to 2000 season I never had a season ticket just paid on day but tbh never really missed many matches ,the odd wedding or shift pattern or illness ,holidays etc but not many at all. The promo and prem seasons were a different kettle of fish as my fortunes in the labour market took a steep dive and if I couldn't take my kids I wasn't going either so only we t to the odd small games , such as Southampton,Coventry where demand for tickets were low. Although I'm not skint or anything now any deep rise in STs will be a big hole in my budget and as I paid early this year at no small struggle I'm hoping new owners will honour it and will negotiate it takeover proceedings.
Id be surprised if the new owners reneged on existing promises, I'd also be surprised if there was a large increase in ST prices, that way lies the route to deminishing returns. Increase prices by 50% and you find half your ST holders dont renew
Think when renewing at the start of the season there was no mention of a price freeze for next season like the previous year so I was already expecting a price increase regardless of the takeover or not
The price freeze was bit of a con anyway. I presumed. It meant we got it at that price anyway but still had to purchase really early
Yes you could be right on that tbh. I'm not sure now whether they did or not. Hope they do though as it helps me out hell of a lot
If we're in the relegation spots, early birds will be out in January. In the promotion spots it would be like there was never an early bird pricing structure.
