Those that think we've been run worse than Witton Albion for the past 13 years will be ecstatic at the prospect of untold millions being pumped into the club. In reality a takeover by the people mentioned completely changes the dynamic of the club. Change is inevitable. Let's hope it is beneficial in the long run. None of us have a clue whether it will be or not.
Phew that's good news.... sorry I did not know that. Just read another item elsewhere about Beijing putting the clamps on. My bad.
I think the self contradictory nature of a communist country that allows it's citizens to become billionaires tells you all you need to know about the chances of it reigning their foreign business dealings in.
Mike Ashley & Owen Oysten are hardly shining examples of UK based ownership... lets see what happens I'm sure PC will leave the club in the best position he can when all options are looked at.
I'd love five good years, and if that happened there's no reason to think we'd be broke at the end of it. We used to beat Chelsea and Man City for fun, and compete on crowds. Whilst the gulf is too big now, it would be great to think we could compete in the same division. However, the last two or three seasons have still been fun and we have achieved and competed. As others have said, it may or may not happen. Great question in the OP too, nice to se sensible debate make a rare appearance.
Should we shouldn't we Will it won't it Can it can't it If it's going to happen let it. No amount of speculation is going to alter the fact that at some point the sale of the club will take place We like every other set of fans in the country who's team have been either subject to or taken over won't get a say in the matter. Yes everyones ideas hopes aspersions are good to hear but yet the fears of the few all seem to manifest in some shape or another making the said subject matter full of negativity. Some of us on here remember the dark days in the old 4th division We've all witnessed teams go out of the league we've seen teams prosper.,and if we were all honest everytime we seen one fall through the league trapdoor we breathe a sigh of relief it's not us. On the other foot you see teams that were no bigger than us prosper and go on to bigger things and you aren't telling me you don't get envious and ever think if only wed had some cash to spend over the years where could we have been Let's for once embrace the very fact that our club could for once in our live's be on the verge of going to the next level in its proud history and maybe just maybe raise to the heights that one could only dream of when I was a kid. I for one think it will not only be a good thing for the club but if the local council get their finger out we could see a good deal of business attracted into the local economy. ..the Chinese connection to Barnsley needs exploring on a larger scale and what better start than the club being in Chinese hands
