Why? If he doesn't get in all season then it's because others are performing well. Players need to be picked on merit and if the incumbents are performing well then they should retain their place, it's as simple as that for me.
You're an absolute bellend, aren't you? You're either making sly digs at fellow members of this forum or slagging our players off, do you not have an off button? MacDonald is a cracking defender but our back 4 have been completely dismantled and I imagine it's pretty hard to get used to a new back 4 within just a couple of weeks. Gus will be back, and when he's back he will get my full support. The lad deserves it after his performances last season, he saved us no end of times. He also netted in the last minute against that load of blue and white ***** from darn road which sent their fans trotting (no pun intended) off back home furious. He's good enough for me.
But that won't happen all season. And anyway the tone of the post was what's riled people, the emphasis on 'all'
Didn't you create a thread after the Blunts game specifically aimed at slating Williams? Odd that you'd call someone out for "slagging our players off".
In my opinion Lindsay made a hell of a difference. At times reminded me of Carl Tiler, and I think the former 'Jag' will ne massive for a successful season.
I noticed Lindsay talking and directing a lot. Trying to get people in the right places. Looked very confident and organised. Can't wait to see more of him!
No coincidence our first clean sheet of the season has come on Lindsay's debut. Looked a class act today and though I'd like him to be a wee bit taller he did win everything in the air. Intelligent defender and his ball to Hammill for the second goal is the best pass I've seen at Oakwell in ages. I reckon him and Gus would be a solid pairing. Then good options to potentially come in at left back in Cavare, Fryers and maybe Yiadom. Suddenly looking like we may be able to build a a strong base.
I'd have a quick read back it It, I felt he needed dropping. 2 out of the 3 games at that point he had been too soft. Saying i felt we needed to drop a player isnt really slating anyone, is it? Hecky admitted that by not dropping certain players from the forest game was what ended up costing us. Interesting you've brought this up though, take a look at the slating players thread, you'll see my views there... you seem to like my views.
You didn't just say he needed dropping, you fully slated his ability which is absolutely absurd. But anyway, we won and played terrifically well, I'd rather focus on that.
Was surprised to see him starting today as I thought he would be returning after the international break. He was impressive though. Could be another decent centre back we've found?
That may have been the original plan, but with Mcdonald out, I guess he didn't think Jackson and Pinnock would've been a good enough combination.
If Adam Hammill had just stood still and closed his eyes, that pass would have lodged between his feet anyway. Magnificent!
As Hecky said on the radio after the Sunderland game, the best way to learn is by playing in actual games. Lindsay played in the pre-season games and got sixty minutes in the midweek game but as the gaffer said , that's not like playing in a highly competitive league game. Let's give the kid a chance. Another six or so games I'm sure we'll be singing his praises every week. He's an excellent signing and I'm convinced he will go on to win his first International cap in the not too distant future.
