Well I was looking around the West Stand and I didn't see anyone. I even asked a couple of blokes fromt media - and they ant seen anyone. I think we will get an indication of how close the deal is - with the quality of players brought in during this week.
Hopefully he'll realise that little needs to change, other than being more competitive in terms of recruiting and keeping players. Maybe a bit of paint here and there.
This is why I resent some of our fans suggesting we'll become a Wigan, Reading or Bournemouth. That's disrespectful to us. We're a much better club than any of them were when they started to get investment.
Interestingly Patrick was in East Stand exec area rather than the usual West Stand directors box - perhaps this is related.
I agree. I think potential investors will see that they don't need to throw millions at us to make us competitive in this league. We're only a bit of continuity away from being a top 6 side imo.
They got him to bring over a new box of bulbs for the scoreboard. Apparently the ones in the new board are obsolete. "Buy cheap, buy twice"
Yes definitely no Chinese in there. But none of the Cryne family were there either. So it's possible they were all in a hospitality suite in the East. Wonder why Royle was there.
If we've proved one thing it's that we can spot and attract players we need, and that we've learned to trust our judgement rather than question it. We've turned rough cuts into diamonds and made the club one that those good young players want to come to. Why wouldn't a company whose sole purpose is to scrape profit see this as a good thing?
According to his Everton FC website profile he came back under Martinez in 2014 and is in charge of youth academy, scouting and recruitment so he'd have been there to watch Joe Williams.
