If the takeover which involves massive investment and a glorious premier league future depended on the investor being allowed to bring in a top European manager. Would you?
No. Hecky has to be retained. Just look at Birmingham to see what can happen when owners think they're clever and bring in a big name.
1) Accept the takeover 2) Their own top European manager I'm asking these questions, because I think they may be the questions a prospective buyer may be asking.
I can't see it. The guy has mentioned modest investment, so I don't think the changes would be as severe as some would like/dread.
I'd hate to see Hecky go. Regardless of takeover or not. But if it delivered what you're saying then most wouldn't in the end give a toss.
Sadly this is the harsh reality of football. I mean look at the whining of the Newcastle fans when Chris Hughton was sacked, or Birmingham fans when Rowatt was dismissed. Or even some of the Wednesday fans when Chansiri replaced Stewart Gray. I reckon few of their fans would have shed a tear when Benitez and Redknapp came in, or when Carvahal took Wednesday to 2 play off finals. I suppose the argument is that it isn't the managers fault and he should be supported regardless of the method he was brought into the club. All that being said, I don't think Hecky is going anywhere. So it's a moo point.
Very true. When alls said and done, it all boils down to entertainment on the pitch. That's what we all go to watch.
If we don't get taken over, and hecky does well he'll probably be off at some point anyway if offered enough brass.
If they sacked hecky for no reason other than he wasn't their guy then they can go **** themselves. If hecky wasn't performing well enough over a sustained period then just like any other manager i (and he) would expect him to lose his job.
Given what he has achieved in his short managerial career, anyone who would look to deliberately replace Hecky, is not the sort of person who should be running Barnsley Football Club... There you go...
If When the take over is implemented i cant for one see them pumping millions upon millions in the club ...rather providing funds to compete on a level playing field re wages in this division....i would guess if promotion was their target and we got there then that as they say would be a different kettle of fish...to start with lets not get too carried away ...Hecky and his backroom staff will be the guy who takes us up and keeps us there in my opinion
Competing on a level playing field, WILL cost millions... Or a few dozen kettles of fish. Whichever's cheaper...
If he's successful it can only make sense that They keep him as manager. Let's hope Their takeover is too. Their success so far at OGC Nice should be a good marker.. fwiw They didn't sack Claude Puel, he left for Southampton ..
