....we have a Championship game against Blackpool tomorrow. Somebody needs to get hold of things like this and sort that site out properly. Too many complaints from users already and we are only in August.
Listened to match on mobile app on way up to work in North East yesterday & have to say was excellent. The annoying music / message at half time needs getting rid of, but I'm not sure what the club could do about that. I assume that comes with the platform when the broadcast ceases. Maybe Whitey could have sung us a few Blink 182 songs or summat?
Shows up on mine as well. Blackpool inthe Championship and a 2 pm kick off. How many mistakes can you get in 3 lines. Almost as if Tyrone is running their site
August bank holiday Monday just right for a trip to Blackpool! I'm not one to complain about anything to do with the service but this is poor stuff. It's like the BBC Barnsley page that still tells us about Dale Jennings making the switch from Bayern to Barnsley. Maybe we have no control over content? I don't know but somebody needs to get the thing up to date (and working properly!)
All fixtures are automatically updated by the EFL and statistics from OPTA. This is the latest error I have had to complain to the EFL about. I must have sent a thousand this summer already.
As Andy says, it's out of the club's hands unfortunately and is very frustrating. It baffles me how companies and individuals are paid good salaries for getting things continually wrong and shortchanging paying customers.
We never had control previously either. Fixtures are auto uploaded. It's why the website showed us as playing on a Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup, when we weren't. I had to answer call after call that afternoon from elderly fans asking if there was actually a game on. Big clubs with big budgets and big media teams run their own website and video service in-house. It costs a hell of a lot of money. For example, our visitors yesterday. They do it all in-house. It's why they sent 8 media staff to Oakwell yesterday. Their output was no better than ours. But at least they have a more reliable service for their fans and it must be lovely having more than two staff. I bet they got back to Sunderland before I left Oakwell.
Wasn't a dig Whitey, I know how much work you guys put in. But it's gone from a very good service where we were spoilt really with the full match replays with comms to a service where they can't even get the fixtures right. Seems strange that the club do not have any administrator rights to make changes or access certain things
I assume they could if they paid for them. Fixture list is patented by the league / FA I assume? Certainly was when printed, so I'm not sure what any club could do about this.
I know it wasn't a dig, mate. Just trying to give you more details. Like I said the other week, it's been a backward step in my opinion, the new video platform. And teething issues will soon no longer be an excuse. I can only hold onto the fact that they've apologised to all clubs yesterday post-match for continuing problems with iFollow and they tell us they're about to have a 'thorough' review. We'll see.
