Go to page 11 of the BBS. Sheffield united away last week. Several different threads discussing various things about the game but I can't find multiple threads saying the same thing about the score
you have to remember we are dingles with 5 fingers and one thumb,so we are well capable of having numerous threads on the same subject.
You must have seen them. They don't always say 1-0 but can say yesssss or get in or gtfi or Bradshaw!!! or Bradders or a multitude of other titles. You're right though there did seem to be less against Sheffield United but we were ***** and didn't score so the thread rate was somewhat reduced.
Yes I've seen them before I was just pointing out that there weren't many at all at the last away game. Usually you'd expect quite a few '****' posts when we conceded but there weren't. I don't mind them at all and I don't see them as attention seeking at all it's just people expressing an emotion at us scoring and if we are being honest they hardly destroy the board, it takes about half a second to scroll past if you want to ignore them.
I can't say they really bother me too much either. They're a bit untidy at times but they can be ignored quite easily. I do like the idea of a match day thread - I enjoy reading them post match on our opponents boards, but it's entirely up to admin how this board is run.
This for me is the most annoying thing on this board, the totally pointless and repetitive 'goal update' threads that people do. And it makes the board look a total mess on match days. Yes it's already been discussed and argued and clearly ignored on here (and it will be again of course). Is there any chance of a live - chat function on here, which would surely be popular on match days.
I agree that it is "part of the charm" of the board. I went over to the Villa board over the weekend to see what the villa fans are saying about Conor. No recent threads - just one huge megathread of about 75 pages. I'm left guessing at where the recent posts start - click on 67, nope that's the week before, click through another couple of pages, nope - go straight to the end and work backwards. Just doesn't feel right. If someone had posted "Think Houriane had a good game this week" and then others replied I would have had a simple thread to read about what I wanted to read about. I've been reading the board in various guises since the 90's and I like the fact that it's like a load of blokes talking at random in a pub rather than saying anyone who is talking about X go stand on the right and anyone talking about Y go stand on the left. I can fully appreciate that there are others who may not like it but surely the answer then is go find a board that does what you'd like to see?
Tried them and they don't work on here, for whatever reason people like to post their own threads Would need someone really didicsted to spend all day merging and stuff. To be honest I would prefer people bade use of the live chat console on a match day if any time. But think it would work great on match days, shame it's completely wasted on this forum http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/chat/
Chat forums creep me out. Too many memories of 'asl?' and private pop ups of unspeakable content and propositions. To be honest, I don't think here would be anything like that and it probably would be useful for matchdays but *shudder*.
Having thought about this for a while I love it the way it is, although I can see both arguments. For me, I find it frustrating when looking on rival boards where there could be a match thread with dozens of pages. For example, when we win I like to have a giggle by looking on opposing forums to see the reaction when we score. On Saturday evening I looked on here https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/barnsley-v-sunderland-match-thread.1387874/ There's 56 pages of comments, so it takes a lot of clicking and scrolling to find when we score. The first goal is on page 11, the second on page 14 and the third on page 42. It took me about 20 minutes to find them, although I did laugh a lot doing it.
