Yes, the club intentionally set out to annoy the supporters by purposely delaying transfers for no reason, by failing to keep us informed about the intricate financial details of all contract negotiations, and by not publicising a list of all our transfer targets on here, Farcebook, Twatter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn and on the notice board at Dodworth Discounts next to all the "cleaner required" adverts.
I'm sure it isn't a case of the board thinking 'right well we can have this deal done today, but lets wait till next month (even better the month after) and really pi ss off the supporters. The deal obviously isn't straight forward and the reason being looks to be coming from the end of Swansea - likely due to wanting bodies in at their end before they let him go. It isn't really affecting things, I'm sure we're still looking elsewhere should this one not come off - its clear the club aren't an all eggs in one basket kinda club. As Hecky says - we're always looking. We might have let a fair few players go in the last 18 months, but this summer we've certainly got some bodies in and I'd be very surprised if one or two more don't come in by the end of the window. We're probably a left back and a striker short, but on the whole we seem to have a fair bit of depth. If 2 more players come in for them positions by the end of the window then I think we have to say the recruitment side of things has been reasonably successful. Not a 10 out of 10, not a 1 out of 10, but a solid 7.
Anything shared with the supporters is also shared with our competitors. The supporters would be more pissed off if we lost out on our targets for the sake of 'letting the fans know what is happening'. Mentioning names, prices or timelines is all useful information to other clubs or whomever we are negotiating with.
I meant wages. I agree we could and probably should stretch to that for a decent striker. But he's allegedly on £12k a week at Wigan. I'd expect we'd be wanting him to take a large pay cut.
Agree. But it's only becoming a farce because some people post on here just for the attention and have no idea what so ever about who they club are really after...
Why? Robinson has said he won't part with 1m as they don't have the money. We paid 900k for Thiam and we don't even know if he can score yet.
Apparently he's rowing here from exile in Holland. The channel has been a little choppy the last few days. He's hoping to make land by deadline day though.
