Looking decent now! Can't wait to see what the season brings now.

    Very encouraging looking at that.

It's a proper squad with a bit of depth, and the ones I assume will be backup look decent.

People have worked their ******** off to make us competitive. Fair play to all concerned - and I speak as someone whose mindset is fairly negative when it comes to us.

Plenty of players in all positions. If anything the squad is a little too big and Hecky will need all his man management skills to keep everyone happy and motivated. But credit where it's due, the club have worked hard to put a squad together. Up front we're in a much healthier position than we were when we kicked off the season.

The concern for me remains the same: we lack bite in midfield and an option other than Williams in regard to a midfielder who can sit in, remain disciplined and hold our shape. I still think we'll concede more goals than most, but maybe with the new additions up front and the wealth of attacking options in midfield we can outscore the opposition often enough to at least push us to safety and maybe even higher. We'll see...

Agree Jay. Might add CB to that as well: bags of potential with the players we have but precious little Champ experience.

Looks a very strong squad apart from that and DM

The squad has the potential to serve us and hecky well. It looks like it can handle player rotation to keep them fresh to maintain high fitness levels, lack of player form or injury ie plenty of options to change personnel without weakening the team as there are no stand out individuals but a full squad of strong players. We now have a squad of young, physical, strong, talented players who can perform at a club where they will get a chance and now with a takeover coming may actually stay with us. Excellent work from the club hecky and GG.

One thing about large squads though - it sort of blocks the younger players already here. The likes of Bird and Brown, already blooded in the first team, might find themselves out of the picture now. With so many in the first team squad its hard to see where the promising youngsters can force their way in.

It all looks promising though, from top to bottom, and I can see the club as a whole having a very good season.

I'm not sure about being able to give everyone a chance, we've a pool of 30 players (granted that includes a few kids whove played, Tuton and Townsend). But I guess it's needed as we just don't know the potential of this new version of bfc and who'll be fastest to adapt.

The quantity is certainly there, something which was a bit of an issue at the close of the transfer window last year. Whether there's the quality required, only time will tell. But I back Hecky and his coaching team to bring out the best in these lads.

Matty Pearson with bite sitting central midfielder when all fullbacks are back fully fit and we are good to go.

Mcdonald worries me with his start and the preseason he had.

Its tough to pick our potentially strongest team from the op list and not seeing everyone play together. I know its pointless but here goes 451

    Davies
    Cavare Lyndsay Mcdonald Yiadom

    Isgrove Gardner Moncur Mcgheehan Hammill

    Mcburnie.

How does everyone else see guess it ? A lot of decent players not getting in.

    It's looking really really exciting.
    Big squad !!!
    What's that all abart ???
Someone says 'Big Squad' and every foooker agrees.
No NO foooking NO - it is not a big squad.
I wonder if other Championship club fans would consider that lineup as a BIG squad.
    Dunt think so.

Would have thought with Canny Ganaye being on board - there would be a couple more tall quick French strikers in there - but there ain't.
It's now up to Hecky to get these UNTESTED Championship players up to speed.
    Fingers crossed.

I understand the point you make about the players being untested but that doesnt mean its not a big enough squad. We have at least 2 players for every position, any more and you risk upsetting players or over rotating. Although they are mostly untested they all have potential to improve and with our budget in the current market im not sure who else we could have brought in. I trust Hecky to get the most out of the majority of them.

I think most people would agree we dont need an extra 2 strikers, 6 seems quite excessive.

    Ermmmm
Can you drop Potts, Moncur or Ugbo?
    What about Pearson and Williams?
    Then there's Isgrove.
And Xanadu is going to take some stopping.

Which clearly underlines the point being made.
    Fantastic.
And a point I made a while ago - money spent on the new crop should potentially make them better than the old crop.
