But wait what's this? A spit hood was only used on women 11 times? And of the 8 times that they were used on black women 3 of them were the same woman. And wait what do we have buried in the article and not worthy of a headline? Oh yeah 77% of all males who police used spit hoods on were NOT black. In fact which ethnic group do you think we're by far the highest when it came to having spit hoods on them? That's right white with 55% of all cases. Black people came in a distant second with 33% and 12% Asian or other minorities. Pisses me off the way that the media attempts to distort facts and figures to further their agenda
Perhaps if the results were weighted for ethnicity and socio economic groups, that may more accurately outline which groups were perhaps more marginalised than others based on their actual representation in the UK population.
You would also need to include statistics showing how many crimes were committed by each ethnic group and further which specific crimes were committed by them (I am guessing that somebody arrested for knife crime is more likely to spit at police than somebody arrested for fraud for example). You'd also then need to include statistics showing how many people from each group resist arrest etc.
Don't know about spit hoods, some of the scum that get arrested, want plastic bags with draw strings pulled very tight pulling over their heads or is that me just being controversial lol
I couldn't give a flying **** what their sex, race, religion or age is, if they spit or bite when being arrested then a spit-hood is justified. You're right about the figures being more than a little misleading ST.
