Hecky will be disappointed but stoic. Maybe we've got a target man in the academy we can try and blood instead of developing players for another club's benefit.
Well I'm with Mr T on this one. Ike looks like mustard, Super Tom has done well so far, and we're yet to see Mamadou's potential. Add to that Jacob Brown knocking at the door. You can't keep so many strikers happy - especially if we play 4-5-1. I'm good with what we've got. It'll be enough of a job keeping all the midfielders happy.
Not sure how far off a return is but looked OK in the friendlies he played and sure he scored a few in u23s and sometimes an opportunity comes from nowhere and works out for the best. Things are not all bad.
its beaurocracy at its best....talk about 'jobsworth'... sorry Gally but this totally sux big time... and sadly McBurnie Barnsley and Swansea are not the only ones , it would seem, to be shafted by some petty little jumped up oik in the back rooms of the FA/EFL. They are no better than traffic wardens IMHO.
I was impressed with what I saw too. So maybe he gets his chance when fit (don't think I dreamt of his injury). But if hecky and co was chasing this kid for so long we have to trust that they believe in him.
For anyone wondering that's the other, I'd say target man at the club. Not sure how tall but I'd imagine taller than Mcburnie. Recently turned 18. Not sure if he'll be used, good enough....... He told me a couple of weeks ago he scored 9 in pre season.
Just seen that the farce surrounding the transfer window for Premier Division Clubs will not happen from the start of the 2018/19 Season. Majority of Prem Clubs have voted to scrap it. If we are still in the Championship, we will not be affected but we won't of course be able to sign any Premiership players once their season has started.
You keep starting threads about the same thing though. Isn't there a rule against it on this board or summart like that?
Just got home, not been online all day and I get a message from our kid telling me about McBurnie. I thought he was trying to wind me up. What a farce. Swansea have stitched us up, they've acted unprofessionally and they've taken an opportunity away from a young player who could have spent time getting first team experience and benefiting from development with Hecky.
That's my point, I know hardly owt about McBurnie but given that Hecky seems to have really wanted him that much that he was prepared to wait as long as he did, then it can only be seen as a set-back. Which which hopefully we'll ride.
Even tho I get the occasional moaners - FOR WEEKS I've been banging on about a player for each position and a SPARE. McBurnie was the only tall striker at the club - the only player big enough and strong enough to hold the ball up and add the threat of a striker who could head the ball. So we have lost that player. Reight then Barnsley...... where's the spare??? No good berating Dragon - he has a point. It's a farce. And the club is partly to blame for the fact that we are left with not a single tall striker at the club. We must be the only club in the division.
Ah well, will be but history when Mamadou commences his 100 league goals tally for the season at Preston.
