Once again a magnificent performance from the lad, this time with a goal as well to add to it. What a player he's become, surely he's undroppable now? The other Adam did OK too, didn't he? What a great game that was!
totally agree. i suspect Lindsay/Jackson will be the combo for sedty. As much as i like MacDonald he doesnt deserve to walk straight back into the team and on last nights performance i think Pinnock needs a bit more time to settle into this level.
I wouldn't have MacDonald on the bench. He's our captain but constantly making mistakes, giving away free kicks and penalties. We have better options now...
I've consistently been one of Jackson's biggest critics but he deserves so much credit for the way he's applying himself and playing to his strengths. I think it's too early to say that I was wrong about him initially but it's certainly not too early to give credit where's it due. Long may his fine form continue!
Hecky has to take credit for sticking with Jackson when he was struggling a bit.... He seems to be getting better every game!
Based on what? If it's fair to give credit where it's due then the reverse also applies. Jackson has been culpable on occasion for goals we've conceded and games we've lost, as have most other players past and present. That being said, I hope he continues his fine form and that he retains his place in the side in the process.
In fairness that was while the others were finding their feet.. a lot of responsibility was put on him and he was trying too hard imo
We need a specialist centre half on the bench in case of injuries or, god forbid, another sending off. But I wouldn't change the defence at the moment until we have to. McDonald needs to learn that he can't nut an opponent and think he can walk back into the side after his suspension.
Based upon the fact that the staff at the club seem to know what they are doing and, to a lesser extent, that I've been playing/watching football for more than 50 years and like to think I'm a reasonable judge. It's usually just a matter of giving people time.
Those involved in recruitment at the club have uneartheted some real gems in recent years but it isn't an exact science due to the nature of the beast. Let's not forget that during that time we have also signed some absolutely appalling players or rather players that simply didn't perform during their tenure at the club. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. It's not always a case of giving people time, unfortunately. However, I really do hope I'm proved conclusively wrong re Jackson and that he goes from strength to strength.
