Praising us for our incisive passing and good football. They couldn't get the ball of Williams and Moncur in the first half. Fully deserved victory. Great to hear an intelligent fan of another club saying exactly what we were all thinking last night. Nice to hear other fans' views, either on here or elsewhere. Not all supporters are ignorant. Decent people everywhere, obviously. What a shame we have to listen to the moronic chants about the club, the town etc. It's not just Derby obviously - all clubs have that element, including some of those in the Ponty End who can't help themselves.
I'm not a fan of 4-5-1 or whatever variation of one up front you wish to say it was... but the way we played the opening half hour last night shows exactly how effective it can be. We looked strong in midfield AND provided plentiful support for Bradshaw up front. Finding that balance is difficult, especially away from home. Wonderful, fast paced interchanges, often one touch, players overlapping and seemingly always an option to pass to. It was exciting and great to watch. I still think there is a time to put two up top, but we do now have a good range of options and no shortage of talented players to have a real go this season.
Yes there is . YOU. Moan fekin moan fekin moan . Whatever subject anybody brings up you have always got something bad to say about town . We all get theirs numpties in town but you bring it to another level. Theirs numpties in Huddersfield as well so fek off and moan about them.
I don't know the exact numbers - but I worked with guys from Derby after the strike and there was a lot of hassle there during the strike between strikers and non strikers. So many of the Derby miners were NOT scabs. Which weren't really the case in Notts. As for Derby people themselves. I work in Derby and I have found them: Not as bonny as us Yorkshire folk - which is probably due to us having more Viking in us. Not as tall as us. Quieter. Not nearly as friendly - very stand offish. More polite than us.
I wasn't there last night but the last time I was excited by the kind of one touch expansive football you're describing was the 96/97 promotion season. We couldn't could we??
There was one midweek match under Simon Davey when we COMPLETELY arseholed Bristol City. Anderson da Silva murdered them, and we were knocking the ball about beautifully. I thought we'd cracked it. I hadn't seen anything like it since 1997. The next home game he probably put Colace and that Iranian who was no good at penalties in the same midfield, with Campbell-Ryce at sweeper, and normality was resumed.
Did we ever have a better sweeper than Jamal? Would give Fleming or Appleby a run for their money....
Aww FFS lads, lets not keep going on about this which has got nothing to do with footy. And remember this is Derby here, its NOT Notts Forest or Notts County.
