Agreed. I worked with Shirley when I was at the club. Roger did our wedding photos. Still see them from time to time outside Oakwell on match days.

Oh yes. No one got past her. I remember her ran ranting in the office about George Courteney trying to get into the car park without a pass. He told her who he was and that the game couldn't start without him. She told him in no uncertain terms that he needed a pass!

I know he got a bit of praise but I think Josh Scowen is up there with some of the best midfielders we have ever had at Oakwell.

Andy Liddell. Always seemed to be underrated here, but went on to be Wigan's all time top scorer in the league.

    Agree.

I remember when we first signed him & for about 3 months we were coming away from the ground saying the same every game, 'Scowen man of the match again'.

Seems to be at least a 7 out of 10 every game.

One of my favourite players, especially for how he never sulked when he couldn't get back in midfield during the promotion run & then came in & did a very solid job at right back.

Even in the championship he ended up on the right wing a few times & won man of the match on at least one occasion playing there.

Not bad for a lad who'd only ever played as a holding midfielder in league 2.
