I was thinking about the logistics of it, as is my way. White on red would have been better, dearer though probably. Why won't you be there in 20 years? Got your eye on a big money move to Leeds?
Aye, in the same way that it's handwritten on the underside of the pies and down the side of each chip.
The ref was actually about to blow the whistle at their keeper but hecky told him not to from what I saw. Sportsmanship. This was at 3-0 down mind. Wonder if Bruce would have done the same.
Did the Boca juniors goalie complain of paper distraction ? We should all sit on our hands and only clap sportingly should we be lucky enough to score. We are English you know !
So the referees are now deferring to the managers? That's crackers if so, irrespective of whether it benefits us or not.
Thank you for taking the effort it was totally different to owt we've had before and looked great . The scoreline definately contributed to the chuckers .
The scoreline wasn't to blame Andy, the paper planes were being thrown from kick off. It was actually cardboard so the planes were heavier than a normal paper plane and could have caused a nasty injury if somebody had turned around and been hit in the face or eye by one. Liverpool did the same as us yesterday. Nothing was thrown on the pitch.
Yeah, these were card, not paper. It wasn't cheap either. We knew there'd be a chance that it might happen, but you just hope on a day like that, that folk would think on. Sadly not. I'm not condemning it or owt, but neither can I condone it. It's okay blaming stewards etc, but sometimes folk need to be adult about things. If I'd have been sat there and seen folk firing them, I'd have said summat. Have a bit of class and that. Makes us look a bit tinpot when we've the all nation's eyes on us.
I want to know what exactly is the point in having police inside the ground when they don't even attempt to arrest people who they witness breaking the law.
You're right mate, the stewards can't be blamed for the aeroplanes or the chucking on the pitch. The only people responsible were those throwing them. It was a nice touch by the club and I bet it looked really good on Sky. Sadly the good work was undone by those who thought it was a good laugh to make planes and balls out of the cardboard.
I didn't think of those. I had blutack and even pegs in my head but no elastic bands. Are you saying that the ponty were armed with elastic bands but the silly chuffs elected to throw paper at the keeper instead? I'm not sure if that makes me think higher or lower of them
It didn't make us look tin pot at all . The atmosphere created by the 130th celebrations should be applauded. Tbf the paper balls were the only thing their goalie had to save all match .
