It's not a new thing I'm old enough to remember the cushion chucking incident , think it was a cup game against Chester (?) , they used to have seat cushions in the West stand , cushions coming down like confetti from the seats
Andy ,where I was sat it were mainly kids between 7 and 11 , not saying there weren't some a bit older over towards east stand but where I was there were definitely kids , so that's where childish behaviour were from kids. They were reaching over hoardings at side of stewards who were smiling at them. I'm not for one minute condoning what went off but it was childish behaviour because they were kids. Once went to see England at Old Trafford whilst Oakwell South were being rebuilt , It was against Lichtenstein in a qualifier and for some reason I can't remember they had boards up for the crowd to hold. Needless to say pitch were full of paper aeroplanes and stewards were forever clearing goalmouth. Other fans will use any excuse to berate oppo fans anyway and then saying we backwards is just a stick because no doubt if it had happened at there ground same thing would have happened it's not exclusive to us choose what other fans say. PS well done for the celebrations enjoyed it , and appreciate all the hard work and hours that went into it , it was worth it as far as I was concerned
Doesn't everyone have to sit in their own seats at Oakwell? It makes you wonder where the parents are if swathes of 7-11 year olds are all sat together chucking rubbish on the pitch.
That's happened at Oakwell since I were a nipper Mapp. I used to go to front of wall stand on a beer crate and mi dad stood fifteen yards further back with his mates
Did anyone else notice the bottle thrown towards their keeper as he was clapping the ponty end at the final whistle ? That was the bigger issue for me
Aye but I bet your Dad would've throttled you if he looked down and saw you acting like a pleb. That's the difference.
That is a different matter and should have been dealt with by stewards imo . There's no room for that sort of thing but I will state once again that we are not exclusive to this. At Wembley it were cigarette lighters fair enough it were Millwall but on Many occasions on sky I've seen players taking items to the ref or seen it with naked eye on the high definition , it needs stopping , as I said I wasn't condoning just saying what I saw.
Despite his game-changing gaff, I just hope the linesman didn't get any racist verbals when he was checking the nets before 2nd half. That's far more serious and shameful than a chuffin paper plane... I saw a lad getting chucked out the west stand at half time, no idea what for.
I saw the referee put the whistle to his mouth, hecky said something to him while shaking his head and making a 'down' motion with both hands. The referee then took the whistle from his mouth and waited for the keeper to clear the paper and take the kick. I should say, I'm not slating Hecky for this, quite the opposite. I wish more people in the game had that level of sportsmanship
Wasn't having a pop at you at all pal. Just thought it was strange that there are folk having a go at fans for people for throwing scrunched up bits of paper and in some cases calling them scum, but no one bats an eyelid at a bottle been thrown at their keeper
Could bi"werse "The game was over shadowed by a bottle thrown at Canaries keeper Angus Gunn and the away side's time-wasting as the clock neared the end of the game. A picture posted on social media shows emergency services huddled around a pool of blood outside the away end."
