......that Kieran Trippier applauded the Barnsley fans last night before he took a corner for Spurs. The Barnsley fans applauded him back.
Remember him coming round to applaud the fans after Burnley lost to us in the FA Cup a few years ago. Seems a good lad and I'm delighted to see him doing well; he was a great player when with us and has clearly improved a lot since
Had a little exchange with Adam Hammill as well late on in the game, nice moment. Interestingly there were a few Spurs fans slating him on the tube after the game. Apparently he's gone down hill since becoming a regular and signing a new contract.
Yes good on him - I also saw a quick handshake with Hammill just after he came on - I don't remember for sure but I assume they were both in the team at the same time in Adams first spell with us
So did I. They were saying he doesn't take on a full-back anymore, happy to play the game whilst stood still and contributed nothing other than the assist for the goal. It was interesting earwigging on their conversation though. They looked to be in their sixties and inbetween discussing playing West Ham and Real Madrid, plus their own fans not bothering to turn up at Wembley, their observations about who doesn't deserve to play etc were amusing. The casual way they discussed world class players as if it was us on about a random loan signing was enlightening. Of course they're used to Premier League superstars and success and seemed very down to Earth, but I found it quite amusing how these guys were talking about Kane et al and trips to the Bernabeu like it was nothing at all to be excited about!
