I think the headline somewhat takes his words out of context.

Waste of energy. See what he did there?

Does anybody actually drink these energy drinks? Personally I don't as I don't own a grey adidas track suit.

Personally agree with him. Think it's well past the point of us needing 2 cup competitions.

The only benefit of the League Cup is every so often a League One or Two team get a payday from a visit to Old Trafford or wherever. If these clubs want out of it then they should pay for it - make them pay a decent lump sump that gets shared equally amongst the remaining teams, unlike the current solidarity payments. Personally I quite like the idea of making the League Cup for the 72 football league clubs, and scrapping the JPT.

The only benefit to English football of Manchester City is to help drive up obscene wages and transfer fees, drive up ticket prices, reduce competition and further divorce the average man in the street from the national game.
I don't see any of that as a benefit and see no use for clubs like Manchester City and their ilk. The sooner they are gone to a super league in Europe the better.

Agree with that too. I have said for years I would be happy if the "elite clubs went and formed a European league and left the rest of us to it.

What's the point of a cup nobody wants to win?

That's because you're negative. Wanting to win stuff. Next thing you'll be wanting a top half finish.
