This seems a fair analysis to me. I was there for both games and was bouncing for days after last years match. Last night I felt flat and not just because of the result. When we went up I thought we would struggle but always score goals. We had them all over the pitch. Now I don't see many coming from anywhere and without goals you will always struggle.
Im.yet to see potts have a good.game . Hes in the way of our players too often. If he can stop.doing that then.he may turn out ok He needs to Improve immensely. But he.needs to.be given the time to improve
Everyone needs time. We're 8 games in or summat. Considering the last 8 months, I think we're in a good position. Like I say, it's the next two games that will give a more defined view of where we're at and likely to get to in the short-term. The heroes who have departed over those 8 months were also written off at various points. This time last season we were in the midst of a six game run without a win. Five defeats and a last minute draw. Time will tell how we fare over this 46 game campaign. But I'm enthused by us so far, all context taken into consideration.
We were dominated for 70 minutes by Wolves last season, then smashed them in a crazy spell, something we never replicated for the rest of the season. It was a real one-off event. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but we then went on to lose 5 of the next 6 games, and this forum wasn't pleasant.
Nice to hear some positives as I didn't go. I take the longer view that since Feb we have displayed relegation form. The trend needs to change quickly and I hope it does. You are right on the money that if we were to take 4 or 6 points from the next 2 everything will look a little rosier.
Last season ended in May. I don't see this as a continuation. Different team/squad and system. Everyone on here said they'd be happy for us to survive. So far we are on track. With a game in hand. I personally think we'll do much better but it's only an opinion. Let's see how this week pans out.
I would be delighted if we stay up and have said it will be Heckys biggest achievement since getting the job if he does it. Hopefully with a change of ownership will come a change in mentality away from the small club best we can hope for attitude.
I'd be delighted to survive. Not because I think it's satisfactory to aim for this every year, but it is the most we can achieve with the squad we have.
I don't think it's the most we can achieve, and I think the aim is to improve Year on Year. But it's the minimum aim isn't it.
The aim can't be to be improve year on year if the plan is develop and sell players. The two are not compatible.
If selling a team all at once, I'd agree. They've planned this through though with the longer contracts. If we sell the odd few this year or next year, and replace them gradually (as opposed to all at once like in summer), it can work, have faith. Added to that, from what I've seen against Derby, Wolves, 1st half against Villa and Sunderland, we've got the makings of a good side. We just need to gel a little, and put away a couple more of our chances. Let's see what Tuesday brings #COYR
