Perhaps, your 'wonderful sing song' about the topic you refer to might be more appropriate and even appreciated down Canal Street area in Manchester. I don't know, just guessing really.
I don't see it as racist. All a bit daft to me, black people have big knobs, pale gingers burn easier, white bald headed players are hard men etc. I don't think there's any harm in the song at all
Added from the fact that if he says he doesn't want to hear it then they shouldn't sing it (regardless of why he doesn't want to hear it) there is one thing that strikes me and that is that there s absolutely nothing in the song which mentions his skin colour or hints at why they are saying he has a big erm 'member'. Are the people who have assumed it is because he is black not equally as guilty of racial stereotyping and making an assumption based on his skin colour? Do those sat in an office hearing the chant and assuming it is because of his skin colour know that it's not because fans heard a rumour from the dressing room for example?
http://africafeeds.com/2017/09/19/kick-it-out-wants-lukakus-racist-chant-stopped/ 《Clifford Stott, a professor of social psychology at Keele University, is an expert on crowd behaviour. “Football fans have always chanted in a way that is sometimes on the edge,” he told BBC Radio 5 live. “This is another example of it. I suspect that it will rapidly die away. “I think a lot of fans who sang it had no racist intent and don’t see it as racist – they see it as funny. “It is a chant that is racist and Manchester United fans need to face up to that fact. “It does perpetuate a racist stereotype and I don’t think it’s a chant that is going to survive for any great length of time because people are realising that fact.” 》
So here’s a question ..... if the video footage shows a black guy singing the song will he be banned from football & Old Trafford for racial abuse....be difficult arguing that in court to get the banning order! Or are they looking for white guys only singing the song ....in which case can I play the race card? Utter ridiculous on all sides, clearly no racist intent, a chant in favour of their own player using stereotyping with no direct cause of harm ( English, Scotsman & Irishman walks into a bar ....Who’s going To be the daft one?). Lukaku has obviously been asked to put a statement out to appease the PC brigade but I doubt he cares at all, the Man U fans are still singing it which defies logic if the player has asked them to stop and now the whole thing is completely over the top!
There's research that show's people who are positively stereotyped in one trait are negatively stereotyped in others, typically by the same people. Here's an article from my preferred left of centre bleeding heart liberal rag. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...united-racial-stereotyping-romelu-lukaku-song
I like her style, especially 'Lukaku and this one-eyed notion'. She's clearly fascinated with trouser snakes
