Wouldn't describe myself as a Corbynite, and it was supposed to be a light-hearted riposte.

Still, you're the one with the first class degree!

So in your researched based degree. Did you look at evidence or just make your mind up by making wild assumptions?

Your evidence thus far to prove your hypothesis ( which of course we now know is impossible).

Pictures of someone at some public meetings
    That person smiling.
A person holding views on a United Ireland and being a Republican.
That person being at multiple public meetings.

I think that summarises your evidence.

The conclusion you have drawn from this evidence is
The person completely supports the aims and methods of the people he was photographed with up to and including violence.

I’d probably recommend dipping into a bit of a refresher course. Maybe laying off the Daily Mail a bit

I'm think you are guilty of not even reading my posts. I clearly stated I have old fashioned socialist tendencies with a touch of pinko liberalism. I naturally therefore abhor our right-wing press.

I guess one thing has been established here: the responses have confirmed the view that corbyn's association with Irish republicanism, tacit or otherwise, is and always will be his achillis heel.
Perhaps he ought to run for the Dail.

    Dosvedanya comrades.

I think what we have proven is that putting your ideas forward as facts it’s a bit daft.

I suspect most people particularly his target voters care less about stuff that happened before they were born. They are probably more concerned with our current govt selling weapons to Nations like Saudi that support terrorism that is going on now in our country now.

I agree that a significant percentage of corbyn supporters are from a new generation with different issues to forge their opinions.
But the fact is i am from an older generation with a parent from liverpool and grand-parents from northern ireland (deceased).

Jeremy was a republican sympathiser, which does not mean he applauded when children died and people lost their limbs, but that's where he was both politically and ideologically.

My uncle who toured in Ireland thinks pretty much the same as Corbyn.

If that’s your point in terms of him supporting a United Ireland then of course you are correct. You can prove that because he confirms it hinself. That’s a million miles from supporting terrorism. I also believe in a United ireland but not the methods of the IRA.

    Anyway time for the match.

When questioned by journalists about his historic association with northern irish republicanism prior to the election, Corbyn stated that he had attended an event in may 1987 which honoured 8 recently killed members of the IRA because he wanted to "call for a peace and dialogue". Really? Why attend the celebration of cold-blooded murderers? Why not just hold a rally calling for peace and negotiation? It's all a bit personal isn't it?.
Corbyn, Ken and the rest were natural supporters of sinn fein, with their opposition of an imperialistic Britain.
This denial of an association is plainly bonkers.

During the Northern Ireland peace talks Mo Mowlam specifically asked for Corbyn to help in the peace process.

They were highly successful and forged the peace process that holds to this day and held in high esteem by the Irish people.

Sinn Fein is a legitimate party of which the IRA is the political arm.

It would be very interesting to look at the Irish Potato Famine and see how the UK govt made the political decision to systematically starve the Irish people.
Links are still available on Google

Sadly, all of that has been air brushed from English History, despite the fact that the British government did the same in India !

If you research you will be appalled at the callous decision from , guess who?
Yes , a Conservative government making the political decision to systematically starve the people of Ireland.

Not part of the curriculum, so generations are growing up with no idea of this or why the Irish Republicans so hate the British government.
Mowlam's talks forged the peace and it remains solid but Theresa May and her government felt it was more important to get DUP onr side for votes rather than preserve the peace process.
As a result it's now fragile

The weak, needy, vulnerable have no place in society in the eyes of these callous profiteering monsters .
Hopefully we don't have much longer to suffer the appalling abuse they're dishing out to their own people.
Condemned by the UN for crimes against humanity in their treatment of disabled people, Shortly now approaching a two tier NHS , most of us will have to deal with Physician Associates, a cheaper, lower form of treatment , based on a failed American Model .... good enough for the Plebs though.
If you want a proper, qualified GP pay up , otherwise tough !

I expect a lot of abuse from this.
Probably ought to delete now, but what the hell.
The sooner these profiteering monsters are banished the better.

You are aware the Sinn Fein is a democratically elected political party and a separate organisation to the IRA... I would also say I support the aims of SinnFein. I would not support the methods of the IRA it’s not hard...

Yes of course why bother with diplomacy. Just hold rallies. Its where we are going wrong with Brexit. Need t knock all these meetings on the head with Barnier and just hold some rallies instead that’ll convince him. You are a genius.

I have just listened to umpteen pictorial and voiced interviews with Jeremy Corbyn on you tube. In all he was asked if he condemned the violence and actions of the IRA: he refuses to condemn at every point.
He does however condemn the actions of the British government and defends the Irish republican 'political' prisoners. He does condemn the use of violence, but he steadfastly refuses to condemn the IRA.
    mmmm...
Have a look please and then deny Jeremy has any historic association.
It's easy, just type in Corbyn and the IRA.
Hear it from the horses mouth.
