I don't wish to sound unsympathetic to young Maddie but come on isnt there a pont where enough is enough? People go missing every day. 250,000 people go missing in the UK each year, the list of long term missing children is unbelievably long and yet a ridiculously disproportional amount of money is thrown at this one case. Seems crazy to me
Well that's not exactly true, is it? I mean every time I see her crop up somebody says that the parents are to blame.
The press have had a field day on this case for years. It's an esay way to whip up a bit of hysteria and flog tabloids. I think there's an element of thinking among the police etc that they daren't be seen to drop the case.
There's some heartless drivel posted on here sometimes. Maddy's parents are middle class so that makes them fair game does it? I don't remember such a fuss over the Ben Needham investigation. What parent would ever give up on a missing child. Give it a rest please.
Well said, if any of you had a daughter missing none of you would be saying it has gone on long enough. The parents are going through hell every minute of every day, their girl is missing and they will search for her till conclusion. The police will give it one last go
I think you've completely missed the point. Of course Every single parent has the right to help. Without exception. Without deadlines attached. No single family should be excluded, regardless of circumstance. The issue with the McCann case is they are getting far more resources over a far longer period of time than any search for a missing person than I can ever recall. I can understand people's frustration that they seem to have been singled out as a special case, above and beyond all other missing child searches. Why?
I've never worked out why Social Services haven't investigated them. They left 3 young children alone in a hotel room while they went out. If I did that, I guess I'd have a social worker assigned and would be in a fight to keep custody of the other two children.
This I simply don't get it. Maybe line the trainee doctor who got a telling off for stabbing her boyfriend in the week not all pigs are equal.
Parents dosed her up on calpol to go on the piss and we have to foot the bill why they are doctors let them pay
It's a strange case is this, I feel terribly sorry for any parent whose child goes missing, but the proportion of funds and resources given to this one case is astounding really.I know if my kid had gone missing and I was one of a big backlog I would be asking questions.
Because they are middle class doctors I find it strange that somebody allegedly got in the apartment and only took one of the children
You did read the bit where I mentioned all the other missing kids right? Why is the pain and anguish of Kate McCann worse than that of all the others? Apart from the fact that her pain is caused by a hell of a lot of guilt as well of course
