Why has he now started kicking the ball out of hand so friggin high? It seems to me as though it hampers rather than helps us. I suppose there must be some logic to it.
He has certainly pulled off some fantastic saves and saved us numerous points but he's also guilty of severe errors that has cost us goals and lost us points. It's a difficult one as he's a great keeper on his day but there's definitely room for improvement. One of the best keepers in the Championship? Not for me.
He got beat at his near post for their second equaliser and did his usual time wasting act a few times but Mason cottoned on in the second half quickly to that. He's done well to play so many games in a row but he's been prone to more mistakes than usual this season and doesn't have any genuine competition for his place.
For all AD's pros and cons, it certainly doesn't help that he isn't challenged for the number 1 jersey. He's never going to be replaced by Townsend, irrespective of whether he has a howler week after week.
His throw out in the first half was one of those amazing moments you see but don't believe. It's like his mind just switches off and then back on again. In the meantime everyone's blood pressure has rocketed. And then he starts kicking it higher than it goes long. To be fair he did make some good saves and his catching was excellent. But he's had those calamitous lapses of concentration regularly for over a year now and they don't seem like they're going away.
Because he's a very good keeper at this level. He makes mistakes, all keepers do, but he also makes some quality saves. Some of our 'fans' just need to moan about something even when there isn't anything to moan about?
If he was fecking perfect he’d be in the Premiership! He’s young And learning and he saves us more points than he loses.
He has a lot to do, playing for us. He'd be being slaughtered on here tonight if that horrible chuck out had ended up with the ball in our net. I do wish he'd develop a better sense of when to stop on his line or do a sweeping job. Generally he isn't a weak link, though he does not seem to be learning from his mistakes.
He probably saves us more times than he fecks up. Not one of the best in the Championship in my opinion, but he is Championship quality. If he was better he'd have gone with all the others. We need to get behind him, 'cause unless Moneyball splashes a lot of cash about he's our only real option, as Hecky clearly doesn't rate Townsend that much.
