The point is that, for one reason or another, their deals fell through. Maybe we have our own ugly no go threshold for them.
oh sorry Trotsky, does my view conflict with yours... I did not know personal opinion was not allowed and that you were one to run things by for vetting. I will try to remember in future.
Did I say the clubs that Chien had looked at... no thowt not... I was being generic about overseas owners, or was that a bit too much for you to take on board?
apologies in this case M R... but I was thinking of all the football league, There are many teams out there who are close to major cities and towns that have no big investors.. even if an investment to a conference side was done then it would only take 4 years to make the premier league, assuming they got it right and had consecutive promotions. A bit unlikely but not totally unfeasible. When you think that teams like Newport County, Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley all went into liquidation and went bust.... all are up and running again and had to re-enter at the lowest level of the Pyramid, considering that then its not a big task to buy a small club within a good catchment area and then go for it. " If you build it they will come"
Full house every week in the prem. if you think we'd not fill oakwell were we to get back in the prem then you are sadly delusional. We could easily put another 10 k on the attendance and fill it.
It said on Calendar that the consortium were asked two weeks ago to prove they had the funds, which is standard, and haven't come back yet .Chien and the other American obviously have the funds ,Beane is unknown as he appears to have come into the deal at a later stage but they are probably getting their ducks in a row before proceeding .
Maybe the takeover will happen, maybe it won't. We'll know when we know. Given the number of people involved on the consortium and their business interests, I don't know that 2 weeks is a long time to wait for the requested information to be prepared and presented in the correct way by by legal and financial professionals. There's probably a lot more involved than nipping to the bank for a statement. I have no experience of business at this level but from the involvement I have had with solicitors and accountants, two weeks isn't a long time.
Plus there's every chance the FA have been meddling, were they not bragging last week how many takeovers they had refused
I'm pretty indifferent about the takeover. If it happens, great. If not, meh. But if the deal goes through, I shall piss myself purple at folk that post this kind of self-promoting, ill-informed ****.
Doug O'Kane confirmed that in a tweet. For someone not interested in taking over at Oakwell he's spending a lot of time there or with Patrick Cryne.
Bumped into Patrick accompanied by Paul Conway outside Redfearn’s as they headed into the office after the game
