Great to see a few extra thousand there today but what a nightmare getting away. Hour and half to get to motorway at Dodworth.
Town and surrounding areas was hectic today even before the football. It took me nearly twenty minutes to get from Monk Bretton to the council dump at Smithies. Nightmare.
We park just off Huddersfield Rd - 10 minute walk into town, then straight out afterwards, through Kexbrough and onto the M1 at J38. Obviously helps we're headed north!!
I was home by 630 and I live in Lincoln, although it did take me a while to get to the M1 I will admit.
Sheffield rd is closed, which is putting more traffic onto all the other routes out of town. It was bad at 10am yesterday
I was back home by five thirty and I didn't even go to the match. (committed to our village apple day, juicing and cider making.... sounds like I missed a good game though)
The car park was really bad today which with the crowd was to be expected. Instead of going through town, went via Stairfoot to Dodworth.
I'm still not home. I'm locked in the Ponty toilets. But if any staff are reading, don't worry, I can survive on toilet paper omelettes til the Hull match. Had to put the central heating on last night though, well, both hand dryers anyway.
In Harrogate by 6.10. I always park on the Cemetery Road side of town and never have a problem going up Park Road, Broadway and then on to the M1. The only fly in the ointment yesterday was the roadworks at the top of Cemetery Road which meant Tune Street/Pindar Oaks Street was a bit of a bottleneck before the game because you couldn't cross the lights and go down, but going up was fine after the match.
