A fantastic achievement for them. Brings in a lot of revenue as well from prize money above all. 1st Round day is 4th November so if they're at home the chances are it will be on the Sunday to avoid clashing with the Birmingham home game Perhaps a point to consider if they did get higher i.e. National League, League Two level would be that they would probably have fixtures scheduled to avoid clashing with Barnsley games, so they get more fans and also policing point of view. You couldn't have fans of a club like Tranmere for example and whoever plays us, plus our fans and Shaw Lane's, in town on the same day. Scheduling so they're at home when we're away and vice versa would potentially reduce the risk of losing any of our fans to them
Lowlife Wednesday scum - don’t think this is a fairytale, they will be paying far more in wages than Barrow - no self respecting Reds fan would support them- go to The Rec, Worsboro or Penistone but don’t help these *****
I thought barnsley folk were welcoming types generally but this thread suggests to me that many of bfc's supporters are as parochially introverted as ever. Shaw lane are a club born in barnsley and have achieved mightily in a short space of time. I have no affiliation with them nor doubt i ever will, but i wish them all the best.
I guess my gripe with them is that their success is bought purely in pound notes. I know that's football these days but I still don't have to like it. There are two or three long established non league teams in the area to watch. Shaw Lane have outstripped them for one reason only. More money. From what I can see of the situation anyway. As I say, I guess that's football.
I’d never watch them as there not my team but I do sometime look out for there results, if your dislike for them is cause the owner is a Wednesday fan then you really are a sad ******* of the highest order!! They’ll never take support from us while I’ve got a hole in my arse....the guy had a dream and ambition and he’s followed it through with his own money, fair play to bloke!! Well done Shaw Lane in reaching the FA CUP!!!
So if the reds suddenly started flashing the cash and won everything they could you would"nt be happy
So ******* what......it’s football, it’s a business.....how is a team like that ever able to achieve success without extreme luck or financial investment??? He’s had a dream and he’s put his money where his mouth is.....don’t see big deal if truth be known
It's the Wednesday thing that gets me. Changed the shirts to blue and white stripes and would love to damage BFC in any way possible
I’m not knocking your opinion as this is what this forum is about.....but Shaw lane aqua force will never ever affect the support out club gets!! How do you know he wants to damage BFC?
