Just read Doug O'Kanes piece " How would Beane and Co fit in at Oakwell?" in Fridays Chronicle and agree that of late a lot of copy has been devoted to Billy Beane, because arguably he is the most famous of the trio involved in the proposed takeover. As evidenced by his attendance at recent games however it looks likely that Paul Conway along with Chien Lee probably intend to play a key part in the future of Barnsley FC. To my mind, because of comments he has made, they have probably confided their intentions in Hecky and have assured him that he has a future role at the Club under their custodianship. Conway appears to be a very interesting character. As well as his input at Nice with Mr Lee, he has invested in the production of leading films such as The Matrix, Ocean's 11 and the Martian. Stopping short of investing millions at Oakwell if the takeover goes ahead, they will continue the strategy employed under Patrick Cryne's regime but increase the finances to allow Barnsley to sign a better quality of player and hang on to more of their better assets, including the head coach. It is envisaged that they will sort out the glitches that have frustrated Hecky and the fan base in the past, for example lack of timely contractual talks and offers for star players and the slow recruitment process during the summer. As we are aware the takeover has not yet happened but if it does, the new potential owners seem to be listening to what's being said from all quarters which is a good starting point.
NO DEAL IS BETTER THAN A BAD DEAL? I'm bored to chuff off all this speculation. Support the team on the field & the manager.
Alexander Jarvis just tweeted:. Isn’t this where the hold up is? https://www.theguardian.com/busines...-overseas-acquisitions-firms-debt-levels-rise Party Congress is on 18 Oct 2017
that report is dated 18th August well before any news broke. the date at the beginning of that report
This was mentioned a bit back, but chien Lee is an American citizen so not really relevant to his business dealings.
His tweet is from tonight. The quoted article, albeit old, is relative to what restrictions he’s talking about.
Thiam €1 million according to French Press. Thought McGeehan was £900k due to large sell on inflicted by Norwich.
