    Ironic isnt it given the immegration who ha that the Brits who want to curtail the immegrants are happy to celebrate someone of middle eastern origin as the countrys saint.

    How do the 'americans' come into this? We borrowed money from them during the wars to basically fund our huge contributions to them. So how have americans contributed to our infrastructure?

    Really! I thought he was a Jew of Middle eastern origin so not exactly white but not black either. Not that the colour of his skin has any importance, just he definitely didn't look like the long haired and bearded Caucasian version depicted by Robert Powell

    Well, it's hard to say.

    This was approx 2000 years ago.

    Mohammed didn't start his Jihad North from Arabia until 600ADish, so that movement of people hadn't happened.

    However, Israel/Palestine had been invaded by many cultures, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Hittites, Persians, Babylonians to name but a few so who knows what skins colours were about.

    We think of North African countries as being brown skinned, but that is due to the Arab invasion, before that they might have been black, but then, the Greek influence in Egypt shows in the later Pharoahs, then there is the influence of Carthage on North Africa, these were a Phoenician people, a semitic tribe originally like the Jews, we imagine them to be light brown skinned but we don't know.

    It's all a melting pot really.

    Whilst keeping with the theme of middle eastern looks. I think there will be certain people think mido was white, others beige and others a little darker depending on what photos you study.
    Having said that I think we can all agree that he looked significantly larger than an industrial unit at Carlton
