They wouldn't go to a town where the majority voted to remain though would they?
Statistically i guess they would get what they were looking for in barnsley.

I can't personally feel any ill feelings towards the majority of individuals in that video. Most are of the older generation, who will have grown up, worked and brought up their families in a Barnsley that had one of the lowest ethnic mixes in the country(this changed after the first intake of Kosovan refugees if I remember right), so it is only natural for them to see the amount of immigration we have seen in recent times as a negative...

I think they are nasty horrible racists age is no excuse. It would make me laugh if we did send EU citizens home and they sent all our ex pat pensioners back.

They contribute to the greek economy, they cost the greeks nothing. I've spent about 3 grand over there while visiting twice this year notwithstanding all the other family and friends that visit April through October. They live in a greek village; they speak greek very well and have long been granted the mighty privilege of a place in the village cemetery. They are, i believe, looking into the process of gaining greek citizenship, which they can as they have lived there more than the requirement of 10 years. It shouldn't have to come to this ( i doubt it will)

Not everyone who voted out was racist. All the racists did vote out though.

Which is why i feel for those who voted out for reasons other than "immigration" (or economic migration). I understand their dismay as being labelled racist. I agree with your statement however.

I’ve no doubt about that but clearly if we expel all EU citizens like some of those geniuses suggest the EU would respond in kind.

If i went out and asked the average type who they interviewed in the middle of Barnsley the same questions as Channel 4 asked, I'd have got more or less the same answers.

And to be honest the answers resonate the views and the fears that many Barnsley people have.

Whether anyone on here likes it or not.

These people - decent and honest - are allowed to express their preferences in e.g. the general election.

Why is the EU referendum different? Why are they all so pig ignorant for that vote, all of a sudden?

The funniest thing about the whole Brexit thing for someone who can see both the good and bad in the the EU is that people genuinely seemed to believe that Murdoch and Dacre and Farage and Johnson and Gove wanted to to defend them against the ‘elites’. They are the ******* elites you thick as mince idiots.

The thing is, lots of immigrants here contribute to the economy, live in an English village (surely all you need to do to achieve that is live in England?), speak English very well and the only reason they haven't lived here 10 years is because it hasn't been 10 years yet (the passing of time isn't an achievement). Whilst I'm sure your parents are lovely people who the Greeks are lucky to have, they'd still be the same nice people if thousands more English people moved to Greece, lots of whom got jobs and spoke the language, lots of whom didn't. It's the same here, some immigrants will be lovely people like your parents are, and some won't. The problem is that a lot of racist people can't seem to realise that and want all immigrants to 'go back to where they came from'.

It was the way that Ashley ward could receive the ball to feet, the slightest of feigns to the other side, turn and immediately bear down on goal that made me sweat for watching him.

I'm sorry i'm struggling to understand this response in context to the statement i made.
First of all greek law states a non-greek citizen must have lived permanently in greece for 10 years to request citizenship: this is not an 'achievement', it is the law.
At what point have i stated that any eu migrants in the uk are any different to my contributing parents?
I was a remainer and i have no issue whatsoever with economic migration. Many of my colleagues are eu migrants and i love speaking with them about their countries of birth and their culture.
    Another odd response from you.
