Thought the old problem of not having a physical presence up front did for us again. The game would probably have suited Potts today instead of ugbo given the amount of long balls we played and although 442 is my preferred formation it does seem to me that 451 lets us play better football and create better chances.
Well I don't agree. Hull got a lot more than they deserved we got a lot less. We didn't play that well but did more than enough for 3 points just a combination of poor finishing and a bit of luck at the right times for Hull managed to give Hull an unmerited victory. It was one of those games we just were not going to score.
It was indeed one of those games where we were just not going to score, but largely because we never looked like scoring. A couple of goalmouth scrambles does not constitute bad luck. We're at home and ought to be creating chances against a side who looked pathetic and drained of confidence and there for the mauling. We were toothless against the tigers.
It felt like a nil nil from early doors and would have been happy with that considering we were far from our best.
If we had got that last minute equaliser I would still have been majorly disappointed, that type of game. We all knew the stats on terms of Away wins for Hull, so to be the first team they beat is very disappointing.
