    Probably the best decision. Wasn't getting anywhere near our first team, Jack Walton is playing well out on loan and we've got a lad on trial from Sochaux or wherever he's from.

    Game time will do him the world of good but I wonder why he hasn't been picked up by a club a little higher up the pyramid.

    Walton tweeted that his loan spell at Stalybridge is over so it's not being extended. Clearly he's going to be sub-keeper and Townsend will get some game time at last for a 1st team

    Players can't move to other football league clubs on loan outside of transfer windows anymore so it's the highest level he could currently join and is better for him to be playing 1st team football

    Walton will be back-up. He's got some great reviews at Stalybridge so will be good experience for him to be on the bench. He's older than just an 'academy keeper' now, but clearly ideally Davies will remain fit all of the time

    Oh right, I didn't realise. I actually thought he'd gone on an emergency loan and as a goalkeeper I think that he could move to another league club.

    You can hardly make such a judgement given the circumstances. Probably would have got a League 2 club very comfortably
