Sheffield Wednesday have spent a fortune and they should be entitled to feel that they should be beating us at home. What they paid Winnall to sit in the stands still bothers me and as such I feel Heckys team are doing good and them wednesday pillocks on the forums and radio slagging us off need to have a long look at themselves because if we win our game in hand we will be a point behind them. That Carlos fella should be sacked, the players docked wages and the fans should wind their necks in because we could have won that today due to us having a top manager and hard work not just spending millions.
They're not the biggest spenders in the division and this is a manager that has gotten them in the playoffs two years running. I wouldn't want to have to watch them, mind!
Carlos comments on the radio were that we were lucky or them unlucky and that hecky should admit that They had more possession and a few more shots at goal but the facts are we also hit the crossbar, we had a goal disallowed , they scored a freak goal, Davies played well but the saves werent worldies, they were at home and they have spent millions on strikers paid a shitload all facts. Shame we didn't get the winner.
The money is not everything.. but how you spend it is.. I still didn't think we're good enough at the back Wednesday could/should have been out of sight at halftime. We still need wins..
I only listened to the match on the radio and watched the highlights and half time it was grim listening but we have dominated lots of games and had lots of efforts on goals, our fans and manager don't blame luck just where we need to improve. As the title says money matters and if you spend and pay big blaming luck doesn't wash and they should be beating teams like barnsley. Maybe soon were spending big and if so you would expect more than Wednesday team are doing and I wouldn't be blaming it on luck. I must admit I'm enjoying them suffer week after week, let's hope leeds drop in decline and the blades bubble burst.
There are a lot of teams who need to have a look at themselves as in money paid out to performances. With Wednesday watching them at oakweell last season and on TV they seem dour to watch but they have a squad of high quality as their line up and subs showed yesterday and should be up there. How many of our team would Carlos pick in his - not many.
Problem with all these teams spending millions hand over fist is yes they have squads full of good players BUT they’re individually good players but evidently cannot play as a team. Time and time again we come across teams packed with class and individual brilliance but ask them play as a unit and they struggle, it baffles me in today’s age of stats and graphs and all that technological help that theses high paid managers with coffers the size of a cave get away with blindly picking individual players that have invariably a negative effect on their team
If you throw enough millions at buying players the hope is that the weight of their individual ability will disguise the fact that the manager really isn't up to much. A la Harry Redknapp. Amazingly some managers are still unable to cover their ineptitude with unlimited resources.
