I've unfollowed it, be funny if this whole thing left them with fewer followers than they started with. Reiterating what I said earlier- stupidest possible outcome of all this.
Think making the date 3/11/17 so relevant seemed to throw everyone. It's all a bit anti climax am afraid.
The Cavare ‘This is why I crossed the channel’ tweet cracked me up. He crossed the channel to join Huddersfield!
From a marketing point of view it's worked so bravo from that team. And to be fair it is quite a big thing changing all the addresses. So the @bfc_official & @bfcboxoffice is now just the @barnsleyfc account. The box office account run by Beth was brilliant but it was a 24hr thing, poor lass was tweeting from home and into the night. Most of the questions were about how many tickets we have sold, maybe BFC could put a ticket counter on their ticketing website like some clubs do to answer that question.
This isn't it. They didn't make a big deal out of the date and go to all the effort of getting the players to retweet the video to announce a new Twitter handle. The club have literally gained nothing from it. They've got everyone talking, everyone frantically checking here and twitter. Something else has got to be happening. The day is still young.
I'm not convinced it's the takeover either but it's got to be more than something that the club could have done quietly without anyone noticing like changing the name of the twitter account.
If you open your door, shout something out loud that no one will care about you’ve tweeted. but always remember stop half way through your shout as you’ve run out of room.
