We equalled their total wins yesterday. After 15 games. To become this year's Rotherham, we need to draw FOUR of our remaining THIRTY-ONE games and lose the rest. With this gaffer, this team and this squad, I can't see that happening. Am happy to support what's happening at this great club. You non-Rotherham Reds.
Feel like this hilarious new song from the inimitable The Darkness should be Heckingbottom's anthem... "Hecky's never gonna stop... Sh1tting out solid gold..."
It was mostly the doom mongers and usual suspects. The possibility was there I guess, 2nd season syndrome, star players gone, no real championship-proven quality brought in, uncertainty with PCs poor health etc........ but the entire club have proved that we needn't have worried. Something is going seriously right at our club. Once the doom-mongers are on side, the sky really is the limit.
I think that was a Mr c troutman quote. Funny thing predictions the Bradshaw won't score many at this level and more recently the Potts bashing... a few eating humble pie at the minute.
I thought it was a possibility, I'm not going to try and deny it. I didn't think Hecky could keep performing miracles. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I thought it was a possible. I still thing we will be kicking round the relegation places. Of course if we lose the next 4 or 5 then the other faction will be smug and gloating. Helps no one really.
Not point scoring in the slightest, just pointing out that there’s some overly negative people on here.
I hold my hands up and say it was a fear of mine. I suppose the problem with having the balls to have an opinion that isn't just being positive for the sake of it, is that the sanctimonious can't wait to pull you up on it. On the flip side, if someone claimed that Nick Townsend was the new Buffon, nobody would hold it against them.
You call it positive for the sake of it, I call it positive because there's no reason to be negative.
The trouble with Potts was that we signed him and he went straight into the team and looked totally unfit and uneducated to our way of playing, for the early games I saw he didn`t deserve the selection, since then his fitness has improved, he realises whats required of him and now we are reaping some of the benefits of what we were expecting from him. Having said that I dont rate him as the clubs best but neither is he the worst. Carry on Caractacus.
It was a fear of mine, and so far Hecky has proved me wrong with his amazing managerial skills. I knew he was good, but didn't know he was this good! And of course the players need to take some credit. I think a contributory factor is beating the must win teams such as Birmingham and Burton. It's still going to be a tough season, as always, but if we keep our heads above the bottom 6 sides and don't get suckered in then we should be okay come the end of season, providing we stay clear of injuries and parent clubs don't pull players from the squad. A huge bonus would be the takeover being completed before January, then we can bring recruitments to strengthen the young squad, some experience hopefully, and we can start moving forward as a club.
