I personally am disgusted that we cannot compete with PSG on transfers, that our media team isn’t quite as good as Barcelona’s; that we are underperforming against that low benchmark of Real Madrid’s fan engagement. We are clearly at the same level of these teams so should be competing on an equal footing. Shameful really.
Wonder if their chairman has visited any fans forums - how many everyday fans would read a report. Go to the meeting and get it from the horse's mouth. Smacks of everything City stands for - style without absolutely no class or substance whatsoever
Chairman? we haven't got one to do that. I did meet the last but how many of the 10,000 regulars did? I'd be amazed if you get the information that tells you about what that does face to face. How would anyone remember that amount of facts. Face to face. Sure Arsenal shareholders are bitter after the face to face they had where the owner wouldn't speak.
I really don’t get the appeal of creating a thread regarding a ridiculous topic and then not replying to anyone whilst it gets to roughly 5 pages?
Look HT, if you want to laud the Man City communications team (again) go on the Man City forum and do it. No one here is remotely interested....have you not figured that out yet?
Owner if you're being pedantic - why did you bring Arsenal into it - did Cryne sit there and not speak or did he answer questions? Half that information in the report fans of City couldn't give a **** about - ask the questions they want to know he answers to. City are classless and are everything that is wrong with football.
The current Man City side under Guardiola are taking football to another level. No denying that. But in terms of their academy, how many local lads will make city's first team? Annual reports for any business tend to accentuate the positives and use PR spin. City are reporting to an international footprint of investors, income streams and "supporters". Whilst I'm reasonably interested in our financial stability, the info I'm really interested in and that is most meaningful is the league table, the key currency will always be 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Nearly 10,000 of their match day average attendance don't feel Man City are a club that cares about it's fans. It's all open to interpretation, and other than the financial data, is a PR exercise mainly. A report like that, designed by a professional company, would cost somewhere in the region of £10-20,000 plus distribution costs even for an online version. Can't see that being good value for BFC myself, or our existing media team having enough hours available to do it internally. Do you not take any pride in being a BFC supporter and in what the club does do well in the context of what resource (people) we have? I definitely do, we're not perfect, but I think as a club we are in touch with the local area, local community, our working class roots, more so than we have been for years. Saw a great deal at first hand at the weekend to reinforce this, was very fortunate to meet our media team, our CEO, and see first hand many of the staff who, out of sight on matchdays, are the heartbeat of the club away from the pitch. Media output is incomparable with 2 or 3 years ago and much of what is weaker isn't fully under the control of the club. We fulfil mandatory requirements with annual financial reports. I think because our revenue is higher the next BFC annual report and accounts will be more detailed than the previous years, it'll be mandatory for it to be so. Don't underestimate what it takes to produce something like the City report, impressive as it may be.
I'm not fussed about knowing everything, just as I don't divulge everything about my business to others. I just like to watch football, it's that simple! If I had reason to think the club wasn't trustworthy I'd do summat else.
Their academy is that good they've just spent 200 million on defenders. City have power to be buy who they want- these players will be like the ones at Chelsea- 30-40 players farmed out to other Premiership clubs or lower league teams. Our academy probably offers better value for money - just look at City's star defender
Next on his list of 'what's popular with the masses that I can denigrate with ill thought out arguments', the balti pies in the east stand lower aren't as luxurious as those at the Etihad.
Because he’s a wind-up merchant, plain & simple. He slipped up last week and got found out, big time. More than a little surprised he’s still bothering with this tedious tactic.
I'm starting to lose my patience with you. I normally don't reply back to the likes of yourself or the others in a similar manner. But please explain to me how I'm a wind up and how I slipped up and what with. I noticed Geoff once I called him out on his comments lost is lounge so please answer me that.
If you've got a problem with Barnsley FC go tonight to the meeting and tell em face to face. Or don't and people will know ya just hide behind a keyboard and continue being a WUM
