    Your second sentence makes no sense. True, when you are pitting one set of fans against another it's pointless as clubs have different sized fan bases and most will vote for their own player regardless of skill, making the player of the club with the largest number of fans the winner. As a result, cross club competitions should be decided by a panel of impartial judges. However, when it is one set of fans for one club voting for their favourite player, there is just one pool of people voting for who they think has been the best that season. Whoever is the most popular then wins which is true but the only reason they are popular is because they have done well for the club, if they hadn't, they wouldn't be so well liked.

    I don't think I could have put it as succinctly as that, it's spot on.

    HT only has to look at our list of winners of the Supporters Player of the Year to see the calibre of player who've won it. Shows that the overwhelming majority who attend Oakwell are a great judge of a player.
