Reight chuck - ar tha sat sitting and listening ....... and I'll spell it out for thi bit by bit. It's like this : With all accounts we have a billionaire called Chien Lee who is interested in buying Barnsley Fooball Club. Many of us have actually seen Mr Lee at the club. However - even after months of negotiations with many claiming the deal is close - Hecky is saying he still hasn't been contacted by Mr Lee. Nar then - one would presume that because Hecky is 'hot property' then Mr Lee would have assured Hecky of his place at the club. But it hasn't happened. And thing is - I posted on here as such the other day - and as per usual got a bit of negative childish banter from the usual suspects - in a similar way to when I, with only one or two others on here, warned of the dire consequences of selling players last January when we were just one point off the playoffs. But lo and behold - we have now got news that he is interested in taking the managers job at Sunderland. As Hecky is Barnsley through and through - and Barnsley would be a wealthier club than Sunderland if Mr Lee got ownership - then we can only guess that 'IF' Hecky is willing to talk to Sunderland it's because he's not sure of his future at Barnsley. Does tha see nar chuck ???
I can’t see much sense in this for Hecky. They’re skint, so won’t pay him that much more than he gets here you wouldn’t think. If they do offer more, we could and should just pay him the same, we’ve got a few quid left to afford that you’d hope. I don’t get the impression that he’s particularly motivated by money, over and above prioritising his family as any family man would. So assuming there’s not that much more money in it, family wise he’d be better off not going and causing upheaval. Unless he thinks he won’t have a job here. I can’t imagine any prospective new owner would have any thoughts of getting rid of him. Yes he’s made one or two questionable decisions - which manager hasn’t? - but overall he’s quite rightly one of the highest rated young managers in the game. The natives in Sunderland are already in uproar over trying to attract a manager from little old Barnsley, so he’d be on to a hiding to nothing from the very start. They’ve no money, an ageing, lazy, disinterested squad, and a downwards momentum that is going to take a lot to stop. Having the fans on your back from the start rather than in support would make it nigh-on impossible. Not too attractive a proposition. They’re a big club in terms of fan base though and it’s likely to be a great club to be at if you have the fans onside and you are getting results. He would fancy his chances of having the ability to do that I suppose. Whilst ‘the plan’ as it were states that the head coach isn’t that vital, I fear that more in luck than judgment we happened upon the best possible leader we could have, and that him leaving may be disastrous. I’m Barnsley first and foremost but good luck to him either way, because if he does leave I think we can all agree he wouldn’t have made the decision lightly given his obvious love for the club.
Hecky is now Sunderlands 1st choice for the job. Approach to be made today and they're hoping to have him installed by the weekend. This is a serious blow to us. I'd rather we sell all our best players for 50p each if it meant we kept Hecky. Having said that, as good as a manager he might be, I honestly cant see him keeping Sunderland up and he will most certainly be sacked in the summer if he does go. I cant see the Sunderland heirachy or fans buying into 'the plan' or 'the spreadsheet'.
You don't have to believe the speculation or journo reports, but it sounds pretty legit from the several reporters reporting it on social media. Allegedly they're approaching the club today, so we'll have to wait and see! Fingers crossed it is BS.
Kinda feel it's a club that I could see him moving on to (fan base, salary, potential, relatively near home) but then feel the timing doesn't feel right with their current instability.
I still don't think Hecky will go there. But if he does ......... then this is the worst possible outcome of an ownership transaction in the long history of Barnsley Football Club. If he does go ...... then WTF has Patrick Cryne and Chien Lee been playing at !!! FFS !!!
It's not conjecture - it's just common sense. As I've said repeatedly - and have to keep saying it repeatedly because of replies like this one - if you were Mr Chien Lee and you were near completing the take over of a football club then one would presume that Mr Lee would make sure he had a good base to start from. But it dosent seem so - that's unless of course the deal is further away than what many think.
While also going to matches and going to a large shin dig at the WELL on Wednesday. Please don't try to gain higher ground - holier than thou.
No it's not common sense, it's you taking people who are playing their cards close to their chest and for some reason, putting a nigh on hysterical spin on it, and showing a woeful lack of emotional intelligence in proceedings. imho
