With Skynobet, Betfred and Betway. Bits of 5/4 with Paddy and Chandler. Will be an offer he can't refuse, I fear.
Inevitable he'll leave us, at some point, but I'll be a bit disappointed if they're the club he chooses to leave us for.
Why do you need to perpetuate this scaremongering? The betting largely means nowt. I could put £50 on someone else today and thus shorten the odds. If he leaves for Sunderland he’s crackers.
He will be gone for Thursday and no doubt back in January poaching our players I have followed the reds for over 40 years and seen the same scenario play out time after time. Why do I get the sinking feeling that we are heading back to League 1. No new owners and looks like no manager. Well f**ked off. Yes I am moaning and have every right. I have been with thIs club for forty years and invested my hard earned money. Nothing from this club in regards to keeping us informed. One last point if Heckky does take the poison chalice more fool him. In my opinion he will be managing in League 1 next year.
Nothing's actually happened yet, just some bloke on a forum saying he's odds on because someone probably put £50 on him last night. We're sitting in mid-table and have our players tied down to longer contracts than last season, of course you have a right to moan but what is there to moan about at this point in time?
Jesus chill out!!! His odds will have reduced due to someone putting 20 quid on, on the back of that work of fiction that was posted on Twitter last night!!!!!!!
Aye but just remember that we all lost our heads over the 03.11.17 video from the club and look what that turned out to be.
Would you rather the club acted like that clown at Villa, tweeting rubbish all the time & making ourselves look daft? What should the club come out & say?? No approach has been made for him yet, according to Sky, who are usually pretty good at this sort of thing, should the club come out & say we will try our best to keep him, he's going nowhere, yada yada, it means nowt, when someone is appointed, it will either be him or it won't, only Hecky can come out & distance himself from the job, not the club. We have never made our business public until it is done, never answered to 'tittle tattle' or rumours, i think this makes us professional & i much prefer our way of doing things than a chairman promising this, that & the other, with little result, or meaning.
I'm merely reporting a fact, Redstar. If (as I suspect) our job = £1.5M to him and Sunderland means £4.7M, then he really has no choice. Fail and get the sack and he's still secure for life. However he (and I) would back himself to succeed with a) his coaching ability and b) what Sunderland's money would enable him to buy in terms of young raw recruits to develop. Add in the current uncertainties at Oakwell and it becomes a no-brainer - IF he's offered it.
Half of 'em don't want him and the other half reckon he'd be mad to go there! Don't touch with bargepole Hecky.
They probably want Ancelotti or summat daft. They should have a quick look at the league table and realise they'd be lucky to get Keith Hill at the minute.
Hecky is on a 1 year rolling contract. Probably not on very much compared to fellow championship managers. Any job that offered him a massive pay rise with a more secure long term contract with full term severance pay, would be tempting to him. And rightly so. Unless we can match his ambition in terms of salary and long term security then we will, eventually, lose Hecky. Our only hope is he sees that another couple of years here would enhance his reputation even further. He's 90 odd games into his managerial career. A bad few months at Sunderland could tarnish him and send him much further back than he currently is. But very well off financially. Must be hard for him. Especially as his love for our club is unquestionable. Let's hope this is bluster from a few NE reporters, and Chien Lee has already guaranteed Hecky a fixed term contract on increased salary when the deal goes through. If the deal goes through.
Orsen. Say Villa get promoted and Bree becomes a Prem player hes playing a handful of games, now guessing - based on him being on peanuts at Oakwell they are paying him approx 8k-10k a week. He has a conversation with Winnall who's on 18k in the championship, who got the bragging rights professionally? Just throwing it out there because you keep drawing our attention to how much he could earn with them regardless of where he's managing in the football pyramid. Would he rather manage Swansea in the Prem for £1 million a season or Sunderland at the bottom of the championship for £2 million? I do think he's too inexperienced for a club in turmoil and it could ruin his career.
Because you have a pessimistic viewpoint. Not a dig. I tend to be more of a rational optimist generally. I don't have any feeling resembling anything like what you're saying. But everyone is different and views the world differently.
