I just think considering when linked with Sunderland in the summer, he said he'd only leave for a top job because he's a Barnsley fan, I seriously can't see him back tracking now, with Sunderland an even less appealing challenge to the one they were in August.
The trouble is when there’s a cast iron offer of life changing money, eight times his current reported salary, what his heart wants and what his head knows his family would benefit most from may be two different things.
I can't see that they'll be offering him 8 times his salary though. I obviously understand what you're saying, but no formal approach has been made yet so I would take the reports regarding his offer with a massive pinch of salt.
No official approach yet they’ve apparently had interviews in Leeds and Manchester, narrowing down to four candidates. Him being one of them, apparently the leading one. Both things can’t be true. If he’s had an interview they’ve approached the club. I they haven’t approached the club, he hasn’t been to an interview.
If he does go then Sir Bobby shouldn’t be considered. Never done a coaching job as far as I’m aware. If we’re promoting from within then Clapham / Devaney would surely be the options with Hassell starting coaching underneath them
