Arrived last night to find my membership had lapsed so signed up on the night as a free member Don’t no the name of the bloke but he was on the panel and opened the meeting ( not ray) Basically had a go at me and a couple of elderly gentlemen that we should be paying £10 membership and this will be the last time we are allowed into meetings on the free membership Fairy enough if that’s the case but the elderly blokes at the side of me were rather upset and embarrassed that the guy literally shouted for everyone else to hear. And made up feel very stupid . He grabbed the singing up sheet from us and said right you may as well Go in but that’s the last time. Going back to ray who in the past always seems to do a good job but last night he was very rude by answering questions on behalf of the panel Nearly Every question that was asked he replied “well that’s just speculation isn’t it “ Well we don’t know that’s why we’re asking the question in the first place. Little bit pointless PC answering questions if only the first 3 rooms could hear the question Ray kept saying he will repeat the questions but this never happened . Overall a pretty terrible night and I’m Pretty sure most people felt the same Rant over
Because their was always an option for free membership Don’t think you are getting the point The free membership option was listed on the signing up form ? If someone asked you to pay£10 to get into a restaurant or free entry what would you do I work away most weeks so very unlikely I would make any more meetings
It seems like the guy made a really big deal out of it and made a few people feel daft - I think that’s the point and I think it’s fair enough to be annoyed by that.
I would totally contradict the view of Barnsley Loyal. Why would you expect to get into a private meeting for free when you have allowed your membership to lapse?, after all the expiry date is on your membership card. No-one with an ounce of common sense would expect Patrick and the CEO to comment on the situation with regard to the takeover. Given confidentiality agreements which are standard in such a negotiation, the only comment I was hoping wouldn't be made (and it wasn't) was that the deal was off; it is clear that this is not the case, so it can be assumed it is still on-going. Yes its frustrating but so what, these things take time especially when the owner is seeking to ensure appropriate future influence on the clubs future. With regard to Hecky they confirmed no approach had been made by Sunderland to request approval to talk to him, and I would not have expected them to tell us how they would react if such an approach was made. I was sorry to see Patrick looking so clearly very ill and thought he did brilliantly to stay with the chat about the club and its players past and present so long throughout the night, and I welcome his candor and humour in that regard. I heard all the questions and was sat towards the back, if you couldn't hear you should have spoken up no-one would have objected. The only time they said 'it was speculation' and couldn't answer was in respect of the takeover and Hecky, nothing else. In my opinion it was not a terrible night, it was an informed chat for supporters with our owner and CEO about the club we all support, it was not a press briefing nor the place for any new announcements.
Of course I could but due the fact I don’t attend many meetings due to work I chose to sign up for the free membership . ( which we were told prior to the meeting this would be fine) If it was free admission to oakwell for a match or pay a £10 what would you do ?
If it's who I think it is - I once had a do with him when Chelsea tickets were on sale in our cup run - still needs to wind his neck in it appears.
So you are accusing Barnsley Loyal of cannibalism? I thought he was referring to a food trip to Normandy
